How Placement And Elimination Scoring Works In Fortnite's 'Blitz Showdown,' And Why It Doesn't

Fortnite: Battle Royale's second competitive mode is live. Blitz Showdown showed up in the game earlier today, following up the original Solo Showdown mode with the accelerated pace of the Blitz limited time mode: that means faster storm circles, more loot and more materials. There are some changes from last time, however. For one thing, Epic is giving away prizes to the top 100 players in each server region, raising the number of winners but still making sure that only a statistically insignificant number of players snag those rewards. There are also some changes to how scoring works, and it's not just placement anymore.
