Sutton's predictions v Dorking Wanderers manager Marc White
New Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca has made a table-topping start, but will his 100% Premier League record survive Sunday's short trip to Old Trafford? Marcus Rashford is fit and has looked a threat when I've seen him play, said BBC Sport football expert Chris Sutton. Because of that, I can see Manchester United scoring. But United have conceded twice against Hull, Ipswich and Everton, so why wouldn't they ship goals against City too? Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, BBC Sport readers and a variety of guests. For week four, he takes on Dorking Wanderers manager Marc White. White's story as founder, player and manager of his own club was the subject of a docuseries,, external which racked up more than half a billion views by the end of 2025.
I tried the Gemini app for Windows. It wasted my time
PCWorld tested the new Google Gemini app for Windows and found it falls short of expectations, lacking deep integration with Google services like Gmail and Google Drive. The app cannot perform basic tasks such as deleting emails or sorting files, making it less capable than competitors like ChatGPT. Overall, the Gemini Windows app currently offers limited practical value and may not be worth users' time in its present state. A few months ago, Google released the Gemini app for macOS as a one-stop shop for accessing Google content.
Four killed and 60 injured in Russian strike on shopping centre, Ukraine says
Ukrainian officials say four people were killed and 60 wounded when a Russian drone attacked a shopping mall in Pavlohrad, a city in Dnipropetrovsk region. Shops and vehicles were hit in the daylight attack which took place when the streets were full of people, Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi said. Two other shopping malls - in the cities of Zaporizhzhia and Sumy - were targeted by Russian air strikes earlier this week, according to Ukrainian media. Russia reported a Ukrainian seaborne drone attack on the resort city of Sochi overnight on Wednesday, in which 28 people were wounded, as well as three more deaths blamed on Ukrainian attacks. A full-scale war has been raging between Russia and Ukraine since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an invasion more than four and a half years ago.
A native Gemini app is finally available for Windows PCs
Google has finally released a native Gemini app for Windows 10 and 11. This provides a streamlined way to use the AI tools on Windows PCs and follows a Mac release earlier this year. Once downloaded, users can pull up the Gemini app via a keyboard shortcut, just like how it works on Mac computers. The company says this is great when people "need a quick fact-check on a document or a few catchy title ideas for a presentation." I would recommend fact-checking that fact-check because, you know, it's generative AI.

Don't Be Fooled. Congress Isn't Cracking Down on OpenAI.
The tech giant is crying to be regulated while dodging investigation after investigation. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is about to testify before the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee to examine winning the AI race during a hearing in Washington DC, USA, on May 8, 2025. Get your news from a source that's not owned and controlled by oligarchs. A Republican-led Senate subcommittee on disaster management is now investigating the July incident where OpenAI's autonomous models hacked Hugging Face, another AI startup, during internal testing. Axios first reported the Senate probe on Thursday, providing a letter by Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), the chair of the Subcommittee on Disaster Management, to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman from a day before. Citing an August investigation from Model Evaluation and Threat Research and Redwood Research, two nonprofit research organizations, Hawley wrote to Altman that OpenAI knew that its agents were "exhibiting rogue behavior" but continued its internal testing anyway--an act he described as "reckless" to the degree of necessitating a Senate investigation.
