Microsoft is looking at OpenAI's GPT for Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint - The Verge

#artificialintelligence

If Microsoft leans more towards building in functionality that's present in ChatGPT, the conversational AI that made headlines last year, then Outlook could compose entire emails based on simple queries. Imagine Outlook writing an email to your colleagues explaining you're unwell, based purely on a "write an email to my team explaining I'm out sick" query. Microsoft is also reportedly planning to launch a version of Bing that uses ChatGPT to answer search queries. This new feature could be available as soon as March, in a bid to make Bing more competitive with Google.

ChatGPT: Everything You Really Need to Know (In Simple Terms)

#artificialintelligence

If you're a business leader and you're looking for ways to make content creation easier or provide customers with a more personalized experience, ChatGPT can be a great tool for you. ChatGPT is in beta right now, and you can get started by going to chat.openai.com. Click "Sign Up" to set up your account. Once you've created your account, ChatGPT will provide examples of what you can do with the tool, and help you through the process of running your first queries. Right now, ChatGPT is free to use -- but the company admits they may need to monetize in the future to deal with "eye-watering" compute costs.

As an AI, I don't have personal feelings or desires. However, I would encourage anyone who is reading this to take an active interest in learning and personal growth. There are many opportunities available to learn new things and improve your knowledge and skills, so don't be afraid to seek them out and challenge yourself. Additionally, it's important to take care of your physical and mental health, as this can have a positive impact on your overall well-being and cognitive function. Finally, remember to always do your own research and think critically, and don't be afraid to ask questions or seek out the advice of others.

US government lab is using GPT-3 to analyse research papers

New Scientist

A US government research lab has built a tool for finding and summarising knowledge in scientific paper abstracts. It uses the same AI that powers the recently publicly released chatbot ChatGPT. "There is a line of sight to the time when we will have research assistants that are AIs that have access to incredible amounts of information," says John Dagdelen at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California.

Will ChatGPT change the face of conversational AI? - Digital Journal

#artificialintelligence

OpenAI's recently-released ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) had been making headlines due to the potential to push forward conversational artificial intelligence. This has led some technology commentators to question whether the technology could surpass Google as the most popular search engine. Certainly interest in the chatbot is increasing. Analysis of Google Trends data shows a clear spike in interest over the past month or so, coinciding with the app's release, both in OpenAI and the ChatGPT solution itself. However, the app itself proves of greater interest to the public. Nepal appears to demonstrate the highest overall interest in the solution and company, ranking first in an index of Google Trends data for OpenAI, ChatGPT and various derivatives and related search terms.

How far have we come with Zero Shot Learning part1(Machine Learning + NLP)

Abstract: dentifying suicidality including suicidal ideation, attempts, and risk factors in electronic health record data in clinical notes is difficult. A major difficulty is the lack of training samples given the small number of true positive instances among the increasingly large number of patients being screened. This paper describes a novel methodology that identifies suicidality in clinical notes by addressing this data sparsity issue through zero-shot learning. U.S. Veterans Affairs clinical notes served as data. The training dataset label was determined using diagnostic codes of suicide attempt and self-harm.

How far have we come with Zero Shot Learning part2(Machine Learning + NLP)

Abstract: Zero-Shot Learning has been a highlighted research topic in both vision and language areas. Recently, most existing methods adopt structured knowledge information to model explicit correlations among categories and use deep graph convolutional network to propagate information between different categories. However, it is difficult to add new categories to existing structured knowledge graph, and deep graph convolutional network suffers from over-smoothing problem. In this paper, we provide a new semantic enhanced knowledge graph that contains both expert knowledge and categories semantic correlation. Our semantic enhanced knowledge graph can further enhance the correlations among categories and make it easy to absorb new categories.

Microsoft wants to automatically integrate ChatGPT into Word! - Plugavel

#artificialintelligence

A small revolution in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), this model based on GPT-3 is stunning in its ability to handle natural language. To the extent that MicrosoftMicrosoft wishes to integrate it into its products. The first to benefit will be Bing. According to Bloomberg, the firm has been working for months to integrate it into its search engine, and could launch this new version as early as March. The aim would be to offer more relevant results with a stylestyle more conversational in order to better compete with Google.

How ChatGPT in Microsoft Office could change the workplace

Check out all the on-demand sessions from the Intelligent Security Summit here. And late today, Semafor reported that Microsoft, which invested $1 billion in OpenAI in 2019, is in talks to invest another $10 billion in the company. The stream of Microsoft news made me wonder: How would these apps-on-steroids, used by billions of companies globally, change how we work? Especially once Google gets fully in the game, integrating its own generative AI capabilities into Google Workspace? Will AI become as mundane in our day-to-day work lives as the humble spreadsheet?
