Is AI threatening SEO strategy?

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence has taken over the SEO industry in recent months. With the emergence of AI-driven tools like ChatGPT, which can understand and perform all kinds of (SEO) tasks, an ever-lasting question is once again finding its way into lots of headlines: Is the SEO industry dying? First, if you're impressed with ChatGPT and think it may be threatening SEO, you may be surprised to know that according to the tool itself, the SEO industry is going to be just fine: AI may change the way SEO is done, but it is unlikely to replace the entire profession. While AI can automate certain aspects of SEO, such as keyword analysis and technical site audits, it still requires human expertise and creativity to develop and implement effective strategies. Additionally, search engines themselves are constantly evolving and becoming more sophisticated, making them a moving target for AI to keep up with.

20 Questions (with Answers) to Detect Fake Data Scientists: ChatGPT Edition, Part 2 - KDnuggets

#artificialintelligence

The following month, KDnuggets editors collectively answered the questions in the subsequent article 21 Must-Know Data Science Interview Questions and Answers. Looking to utilize ChatGPT in new and exciting ways -- to both learn more about ChatGPT itself, and learn about data science interview question topics -- we decided to resurrect those same questions on the septennial anniversary of the original, and pose them to ChatGPT. I will preface this article with the clear statement that all of the answers to the questions in this article have been provided by ChatGPT. Do with that information what you will. I would encourage readers to compare these answers with those provided by the KDnuggets editors in 2016, in order to see which answers are more thorough, which are more accurate, and which just read better.

ChatGPT: Yes or No?. People talk a lot about theโ€ฆ

#artificialintelligence

People talk a lot about the opportunities that AI technologies give us today. Focus, in particular, on the trend of ChatGPT, which does a great job of making snippets and code that can go in both good and bad directions. I have no doubt that these tools should not have any negative impact on developers work in a not friendly place. Because these tools use existing examples which is done by humans and are based on algorithms, such as neural networks, they can point you in the right direction. It would be best if you also were careful when using these tools because they can lead you in the wrong direction, where you don't really understand the steps that need to be taken to make the final product. Even though technological improvements for studying the human brain have opened the door for many AI researchers, there is still a long way to go before it can be used in real life.

ChatGPT mania sends these obscure artificial intelligence stocks soaring as hype extends beyond big caps

#artificialintelligence

The craze surrounding OpenAI's ChatGPT has reached small-cap artificial intelligence stocks, as investors relay excitement over the potential future of the space. Under-the-radar firms BigBear.ai and SoundHound AI have both seen bullish runs in recent months. In January alone, BigBear saw an increase of 356%, while SoundHound climbed 56%. BigBear.ai is rooted in artificial intelligence, and the firm's breadth of products offer applications to industries including healthcare, government and manufacturing. SoundHound, meanwhile, focuses on conversational intelligence, which integrates AI interactions with users that is voice activated.

In AI arms race, ethics may be the first casualty

#artificialintelligence

As the tech world embraces ChatGPT and other generative AI programs, the industry's longstanding pledges to deploy AI responsibly could quickly be swamped by beat-the-competition pressures. Why it matters: Once again, tech's leaders are playing a game of "build fast and ask questions later" with a new technology that's likely to spark profound changes in society. Catch up quick: While machine learning and related AI techniques hatched in labs over the last decade, scholars and critics sounded alarms about potential harms the technology could promote, including misinformation, bias, hate speech and harassment, loss of privacy and fraud. Yes, but: Smaller companies and startups have much less at risk, financially and reputationally. ChatGPT "is nothing revolutionary," and other companies have matched it, Meta chief AI scientist Yann LeCun said recently.

ChatGPT, Yeah You Know Me. Or: how to turn your fear about theโ€ฆ

#artificialintelligence

I was about to take off for L.A. when I got a text from my CEO, Mike McCue. It was a haiku about curation. Then he let me know it was written by an AI. Like everyone lately, I've since become a lot more familiar with ChatGPT. It's impossible to tell what's been written by a human or a bot.

New OpenAI tool detects if text is written by ChatGPT or another AI

#artificialintelligence

In what sounds like a solution, OpenAI themselves have released a tool designed to detect if the text has been written by artificial intelligence. In a blog post on Tuesday, OpenAI elaborated on the tool that has been trained to figure out if the text is written by a human or generated by AI, including ChatGPT. "We recognize that identifying AI-written text has been an important point of discussion among educators, and equally important is recognizing the limits and impacts of AI-generated text classifiers in the classroom," the researchers wrote in a blog post. "We have developed a preliminary resource on the use of ChatGPT for educators, which outlines some of the uses and associated limitations and considerations." However, the research laboratory warns that the new classifier tool is not "fully reliable" yet.

Fact-Checkers Are Scrambling to Fight Disinformation With AI

WIRED

Spain's regional elections are still nearly four months away, but Irene Larraz and her team at Newtral are already braced for impact. Each morning, half of Larraz's team at the Madrid-based media company sets a schedule of political speeches and debates, preparing to fact-check politicians' statements. The other half, which debunks disinformation, scans the web for viral falsehoods and works to infiltrate groups spreading lies. Once the May elections are out of the way, a national election has to be called before the end of the year, which will likely prompt a rush of online falsehoods. "It's going to be quite hard," Larraz says.

ChatGPT can't be credited as an author, says world's largest academic publisher - The Verge

#artificialintelligence

This is particularly important given the wide range of applications AI can be used for. AI tools can not only generate and paraphrase text but also iterate experiment design or be used to bounce ideas off of, like a machine lab partner. AI-powered software like Semantic Scholar can be used to search for research papers and summarize their contents, and Skipper notes that another opportunity is using AI writing tools to help researchers for whom English is not their first language. "It may be a leveling tool from that perspective," she says.
