ASMNet: a Lightweight Deep Neural Network for Face Alignment and Pose Estimation

#artificialintelligence

This article explains the ASMNet, a lightweight Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for facial landmark points detection (a.k.a Face Alignment) and face pose estimation in the wild. The code and the pre-trained models are available on Github here. You can also read the original paper here. Facial Landmark Points Detection is an essential task in many facial image analyses and applications. It is crucial for facial image alignment, face recognition, pose estimation, and facial expression recognition.

Neural Networks and Self Driving Car without any complex Mathematics :

#artificialintelligence

My strategy in this article is to equip you with the basic steps that go into building a neural network in order to solve a task we are interested in. Rest assured, there will be no mathematics involved!!! Deep Learning technique requires us to train a Neural Network which is an algorithm that learns from data (usually more the data, better the learning). The principle is to provide lots of labelled data. Hey! wait a minute, i will explain what labelled data means, but let me first familiarise with the analogy that we are going to use in order to debunk the working of Neural Networks. Here, we will consider the scenario of a math class in school. I know math is not very exciting for most of the people, that's why i selected the math class to make math more interesting.

Deep Learning with Neural Networks-Part 3

There are four layered concepts to understand Convolutional neural networks. Convolutional neural networks are composed of multiple layers of artificial neurons. Artificial neurons, a rough imitation of their biological counterparts, are mathematical functions that calculate the weighted sum of multiple inputs and outputs an activation value. Ten Trending Data Science Tools in 2021

#artificialintelligence

The fields of data science and artificial intelligence see constant growth. As more companies and industries find value in automation, analytics, and insight discovery, there comes a need for the development of new tools, frameworks, and libraries to meet increased demand. There are some tools that seem to be popular year after year, but some newer tools emerge and quickly become a necessity for any practicing data scientist. As such, here are ten trending data science tools that you should have in your repertoire in 2021. PyTorch can be used for a variety of functions from building neural networks to decision trees due to the variety of extensible libraries including Scikit-Learn, making it easy to get on board.

Winner of the 2021 AI Song Contest announced!

AIHub

On 6 July, the organisers of the AI Song Contest revealed the winner of this year's competition. Team M.O.G.I.I.7.E.D. Song Listen to Your Body Choir Team members Jon Gillick, Max Savage, Matt Sims, Brodie Jenkins The team wrote here about their song, and how they used AI in the composition process. The song is based on Daisy Bell (composed by Harry Dacre in 1892), which was the first song to be sung by a computer. The team used language model GPT-2 to generate the lyrics, and recurring neural networks (RNN) to create the melody, other samples, and drum loops.

Ambient Cloud Tech in Healthcare

The advent of Electronic Health Record systems and their accompanying documentation has created a deep fissure within the medical community. Epidemic-level numbers show that more and more physicians report feeling burnt out and depressed. The overall rate of work-life happiness reported by healthcare providers dropped below 50% thanks to the pandemic. Numbers released in Medscape's 2021 physician lifestyle report state that 43% of all physicians report feeling burnt out. Of those burnt-out physicians, 58% say they feel that way due to the long list of bureaucratic tasks like note taking and EHR documentation.

Autograd andBackpropagation in Pytorch

Have you ever used the following three lines of code, or some variation of them, in your ML scripts and had no clue what their purpose was? If so, this article should aid in clearing up and simplifying the truth behind these three tremendously important lines of code. Before I dive into the explanation, I want to clarify some prerequisite knowledge that is necessary to understand the contents of this article. Firstly, a working understanding of backpropagation and gradient descent is highly suggested. And by highly suggested, I mean mandatory. I know that both these concepts are taboo for coders who just want to code, but there is a lot of merit in understanding what is going on behind the scenes of your ML scripts.

Implementing AI Models has made Critical Disease Diagnosis Easy

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence and machine learning, are dominating every aspect of our lives. AI is used in various areas like healthcare, education, and defense. With the advancement of technology, better computing power, and the availability of large datasets containing valuable information, the use of AI and ML models has increased. The healthcare sector generates enormous amounts of data in terms of images, and patient data, which helps the healthcare companies to understand the patterns and make predictions. Artificial intelligence is capable of predicting acute critical illness with greater accuracy than the traditional early warning system (EWS), primarily used by healthcare providers.
