The Biggest Opportunity In Generative AI Is Language, Not Images

#artificialintelligence

OpenAI's DALL-E produced this image when prompted with the title of this article ("The Biggest ... [ ] Opportunity In Generative AI Is Language, Not Images"). The buzz around generative AI today is deafening. Generative AI refers to artificial intelligence that can generate novel content, rather than simply analyzing or acting on existing data. No topic in the world of technology is attracting more attention and hype right now. The white-hot epicenter of today's generative AI craze has been text-to-image AI. Text-to-image AI models generate detailed original images based on simple written inputs. The most well-known of these models include Stable Diffusion, Midjourney and OpenAI's DALL-E.

Elon Musk: "DELETE Your Social Media NOW!" - Here's Why. Tesla CEO Elon Musk doesn't like Facebook, and he's made that opinion known repeatedly. In this video Elon Musk explains the hazards of social media, and opens up about Facebook.Want to start a Youtube Channel like this? Get This FREE 10 Step Guide and learn how! - https://bit.ly/3qCLVM4Watch this video to know why Elon Musk deleted his Facebook and Insta accounts, and why you should too! Last year, WhatsApp co-founder and former Facebook employee Brian Acton went to Twitter to encourage people to #DeleteFacebook in light of the companyโ€™s recent privacy scandal with Cambridge Analytica.Turns out Elon Musk, the eccentric CEO of both SpaceX and Tesla, thought it was a great idea. After tweeting back to Acton asking, #ElonMusk #Musk #Elon #Tesla #SpaceX #Neuralink #Technology #Cars #Space #SpaceTravel #TheBoringCompany #OpenAI #SolarCity โ€œWhatโ€™s Facebook?โ€ Someone suggested that Musk delete SpaceXโ€™s corporate Facebook page. โ€œI didnโ€™t realize there was one. Will do,โ€ he replied. Then someone suggested he also delete Teslaโ€™s corporate Facebook page. โ€œDefinitely. Looks lame anyway,โ€ Musk replied. And that was that. Both pages appear to have been deleted. SpaceXโ€™s page had more than 2.7 million followers. Again, Elon Musk is against social media. Elon Musk suggests to delete your Facebook and use the alternative instead. This is a very interesting video, so enjoy. This is not the first time that Musk has been โ€˜accusedโ€™ by someone at Facebook of not understanding what AI is. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has also in the past termed Muskโ€™s views on AI as โ€œpretty irresponsibleโ€.Musk and Zuckerberg arenโ€™t really the best of friends. In 2017, Musk said that Zuckerbergโ€™s understanding of the future of AI is pretty โ€œlimitedโ€. In February this year, the Tesla CEO has called Facebook โ€œlameโ€ and tweeted #DeleteFacebook. In reply to Oscar winner actor Sacha Baron Cohenโ€™s rather scathing tweet on Facebook and Zuckerberg, Musk tweeted, โ€œ#DeleteFacebook Itโ€™s lame.โ€ As for Musk, he deleted his Facebook account in 2018. In a tweet Musk had said, Itโ€™s not a political statement and I didnโ€™t do this because someone dared me to do it. Just donโ€™t like Facebook. Sorry. Musk has said that AI will be much smarter than people, putting humans at a tremendous disadvantage. "I think generally people underestimate the capability of AI โ€” they sort of think it's a smart human," Musk said at a talk with Alibaba CEO Jack Ma at the World AI Conference in Shanghai, China. "But it's going to be much more than that. It will be much smarter than the smartest human." And he's made much more alarming statements than that. "AI is a fundamental risk to the existence of human civilization," he said in 2017. "I have exposure to the most cutting-edge AI, and I think people should be really concerned by it."For more Elon Musk Videos Subscribe Now 👉 https://bit.ly/36lGHuUTesla Videos Playlist 🚘 : https://bit.ly/2ZaTXBsElon Musk Videos Playlist🦾: https://bit.ly/3x56bb6For more by Smart Sense subscribe now: https://bit.ly/36lGHuUFor the best videos be sure to subscribe and turn on the post notifications so you don't miss any videos and once you've subscribed comment something nice for a shoutout.Popularly referred to as the Real-life Tony Stark, Elon Musk is the founder and CEO of SpaceX, an American aerospace manufacturer and space transportation services. Adobe Bets the House on Image Generation AI

#artificialintelligence

Adobe is one of the first, but it won't be the last. Adobe has no choice but to innovate, says Roetzer. "You need generative image capabilities baked within Adobe products," he says. This AI arms race means one thing: No matter how you feel about generative AI, it will be a part of any creative tool or platform you use moving forward. In the process, it will disrupt how creators do their work across industries. Generative AI will disrupt different industries at different speeds, says Roetzer. "If you're in a highly conservative, highly regulated industry like healthcare, it's probably not going to move as fast," he says.

After A Lot Of Hype, (Useful) AI May Finally Be Here

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence has once again become a hot buzzword in tech, even somewhat knocking off the malaise the venture capital markets have been under in the last several quarters. However, this time around it may have real staying power as advancements in generative AI seem to be riding a wave of excitement some have compared to what cloud computing saw nearly two decades ago. "About two years ago, we realized (AI) had crossed a threshold," said Dave Rogenmoser, co-founder and CEO of Austin, Texas-based AI content platform Jasper. "It started producing better end results." Dear Artists: Do Not Fear AI Image Generators - AI Summary

#artificialintelligence

It's a series of micro-essays, ranging in length from a sentence to a paragraph, on seemingly disconnected subjects--orchids, rain, the mythic Andean vicuรฑa. Tools such as DALL-E 2, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion can be instructed, with textual prompts, to produce ersatz oil paintings of dogs in hats in the style of Titian, or simulated photos of plasticine models of astronauts riding horses. Carson's book takes a familiar form, the little lecture, and subverts it, manipulates it, until as the reader you start to feel like you're inside her wonderful brain, scrolling through her mental browser history, joining her in hyperlinked fancies and half-abandoned rabbit holes. These systems roll scenes, territories, cultures--things people thought of as "theirs," "their living," and "their craft"--into a 4-gigabyte, open source tarball that you can download onto a Mac in order to make a baseball-playing penguin in the style of Hayao Miyazaki. AI companies are talking a lot about ethics, which always makes me suspicious, and certain words are banned from the image generator's interface, which is sad because I wanted to ask the bot to paint a "busty" cottage in the style of Thomas Kinkade. It's a series of micro-essays, ranging in length from a sentence to a paragraph, on seemingly disconnected subjects--orchids, rain, the mythic Andean vicuรฑa.

A new report from UN Climate Change says that the world might be on track for 2.5 C of warming by the end of the century, a potentially catastrophic level of warming that's far above the 1.5 C target of the 2015 Paris Agreement. I think it is time to seriously consider a specific solution in which AI can play a meaningful role: Climate geoengineering via stratospheric aerosol injection. Stratospheric aerosol injection involves spraying fine particles that reflect sunlight high in the atmosphere. By increasing the reflectivity (or albedo) of the planet, we can slow down the rate at which sunlight warms it, and thereby buy more time to reduce carbon emissions and develop mitigations. Harvard Professor David Keith explains the science behind this idea is in his book, A Case for Climate Engineering. At the current 1.1 C of warming, the world is already experiencing increased climate-related crises.

Google finally makes its astonishing AI image tool public - kind of

#artificialintelligence

The battle of the AI art generators has been heating up as big tech giants enter the ring. While the space is currently dominated by DALL-E 2, Stable Diffusion and Midjourney, Microsoft, Meta and Google have all announced text-to-image (or text-to-video) tools on the way. Now Google's just made its offering public โ€“ or at least part of it. Google first gave us a glimpse of Imagen, its AI image generator, back in May with the publication of a proof-of-concept paper and the launch of website showcasing some of the results of the tool. It's just released limited features of the tool to the public โ€“ and they're bizarrely specific (for more on how AI art generators work, see our piece on how to use DALL-E 2). A product created in Google's AI Test Kitchen, Imagen is a powerful AI text-to-image art generator that can turn written prompts into convincing images.

Stability AI, the venture-backed startup behind the text-to-image AI system Stable Diffusion, is funding a wide-ranging effort to apply AI to the frontiers of biotech. Called OpenBioML, the endeavor's first projects will focus on machine learning-based approaches to DNA sequencing, protein folding and computational biochemistry. The company's founders describe OpenBioML as an "open research laboratory" -- and aims to explore the intersection of AI and biology in a setting where students, professionals and researchers can participate and collaborate, according to Stability AI CEO Emad Mostaque. "OpenBioML is one of the independent research communities that Stability supports," Mostaque told TechCrunch in an email interview. "Stability looks to develop and democratize AI, and through OpenBioML, we see an opportunity to advance the state of the art in sciences, health and medicine."

Be afraid, 'AI selfies' are here

#artificialintelligence

We've been talking a lot about text-to-image AI art generators in recent months. And now the controversial creative tech is already moving into the mainstream. Despite DALL-E 2 opening access to all, text-to-image AI has remained a niche interest among developers and creatives and hardly something used as an everyday tool by the general public. A new generation of more accessible apps is taking the text-to-image concept from art to selfies, which means we could now see it everywhere (to learn more about how it works, see our piece on how to use DALL-E 2. Selfies used to be pretty'real'. Phones haven't tended to focus on their front cameras as much as the back ones, and even today, the quality of selfies tends to be lower than anything taken with a phone's main camera. That weakness has been made up for with all manner of filters and skin-smoothing and slimming tools offering digital cosmetic surgery that can leave people unrecognisable.

DALL-E's AI art generation is now available for apps

Engadget

You won't have to visit a specific website to use DALL-E 2 for much longer. OpenAI has publicly released a beta framework that lets apps and other products use the AI art generator. This includes the natural language descriptions that define DALL-E as well as moderation to filter out hate, gore and similar extreme content. A handful of customers are already using the technology. Microsoft's new Designer app uses DALL-E to create artwork for social media, documents and invitations.
