Flying car with artificial intelligence by Airbus could revolutionise transport

#artificialintelligence

A flying car that uses Artificial Intelligence and could revolutionise the world's transport has been unveiled. The Pop.Up concept was given its world premier today by Italdesign and Airbus at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show, the Daily Post reports. Like something out of a sci-fi film, the high-tech concept uses ground and air'modules' so that the vehicle can travel on roads and through the skies. Passengers would plan their journey and book their trip via an easy-to- use app. The system automatically suggests the best transport solution - according to user knowledge, timing, traffic congestion, costs, ride-sharing demands - joining either the air or ground module to the passenger capsule.

The enormous release is the first of several comprising the'Vault 7' collection. WikiLeaks: CIA could hack into phones, TVs and other electronics to turn them into permanent listening devices

The Independent - Tech

The CIA built software that could allow it to turn any phone or smart TV into a listening device, according to WikiLeaks. A division of the US spying agency is built to explore vulnerabilities in gadgets and use them to listen in on their owners, according to new documents made public by Julian Assange. "The increasing sophistication of surveillance techniques has drawn comparisons with George Orwell's 1984, but "Weeping Angel", developed by the CIA's Embedded Devices Branch (EDB), which infests smart TVs, transforming them into covert microphones, is surely its most emblematic realization," the organisation wrote in a release. Sir Richard Lambert on the rise of the robots

#artificialintelligence

Sir Richard Lambert told an audience at Warwick Business School that companies need to take responsibility for the consequences of the rise of the robots. Speaking in the first of the WBS 50th Anniversary Distinguished Lectures held at WBS London at The Shard, Sir Richard outlined the threat to society of the increasing use of automation through machine learning, artificial intelligence and robots. The Bank of England's chief economist Andy Haldane has warned that 15 million jobs in the UK are under threat from mass automation, almost half those employed in the country. The possible destruction of so many jobs has led a number of academics, economists and prominent CEOs, like Tesla's Elon Musk, to predict that governments will have to hand out a universal basic income to citizens. Sir Richard, who was Director General of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) from 2006 to 2011, believes CEOs must make sure their companies shoulder their share of responsibility, either voluntarily or by force of regulation.
