Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Big Data and IoT: AI Powered Predictive Analytics Market Will Reach 18.5 Billion by 2021 - Research and Markets

#artificialintelligence

DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Big Data and IoT: The Market for Data Capture, Analytics, and Decision Making 2016 - 2021" report to their offering. More than 50% of enterprise IT organizations are experimenting with Artificial Intelligence (AI) in various forms such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Image Recognition, Voice Recognition, Artificial Neural Networks, and more. AI is not a single technology but a convergence of various technologies, statistical models, algorithms, and approaches. Machine Learning is a sub-field of computer science that evolved from the study of pattern recognition and computational learning theory in AI. Every large corporation collects and maintains a huge amount of human-oriented data associated with its customers including their preferences, purchases, habits, and other personal information.

Technological Foundations of Artificial Intelligence

The most important fields are currently machine learning including deep learning and predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP), comprising translation, classification & clustering and information extraction. Strong AI would match or exceed human intelligence which is often defined as the ability "to reason, represent knowledge, plan, learn, communicate in natural language and integrate all these skills toward a common goal." Regardless of whether this growth will continue and whether the growth of computational power means that the abilities of AI systems will grow exponentially as well, people have the tendency to underestimate the potential of tomorrow's applications by evaluating them in terms of today's enabling technologies. Current techniques used in legal technology tools are called machine learning (including deep learning and predictive analysis) and natural language processing (NLP).

Social Media Monitoring To Protect Brand Image Using Artificial Intelligence Have you ever been targeted by anti-brand activists, bloggers, opinion leaders or general public on social media? What is Machine Learning โ€“ ELI5 I had a recent meeting with a person who was introduced to Machine Learning for the first time. The human brain is an extremely powerful unit of the human body.

Technological Foundations of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is on the rise and has already become a buzzword in the legal industry. So far, the discussion around the use of technology in the legal industry focuses on the battle between humans (lawyers) and machines (robots) โ€“ and the possibility of the latter taking over the jobs of lawyers. This short article focuses on the underlying technologies behind the paradigm. Artificial Intelligence (AI) was famously defined by John McCarthy as "the science and engineering of making intelligent machines." AI could also be defined as "cognitive technologies."

Michael Isman: Govt Agencies to Adopt Automated Interactive Messaging For Customer Service

#artificialintelligence

Michael Isman, a vice president in Booz Allen Hamilton's strategic innovation group, has said the firm expects the government and the commercial market to adopt automated interactive messaging technologies for customer service, Fedscoop reported Tuesday. Isman told Fedscoop reporter Samantha Ehlinger chatbots powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, automated analytics and crowdsourcing tools could replace call centers in customer service delivery through the next five years. "The federal government is uniquely positioned and motivated to seize the opportunity and deliver on the promise for self-service," said Isman. "What we're trying to do is push our federal clients to actually move into these areas because not only does it simplify the interaction with citizens, it's actually a cost-reduction opportunity around these programs," he added. ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday that Booz Allen will collaborate with Conversable to deliver automated interactive messaging tools and services for organizations' customer care efforts.

A tougher Turing Test shows that computers still have virtually no common sense

#artificialintelligence

Apple fixed this error shortly after its virtual assistant was first released in 2011. But a new contest shows that computers still lack the common sense required to avoid such embarrassing mix-ups. The results of the contest were presented at an academic conference in New York this week, and they provide some measure of how much work needs to be done to make computers truly intelligent. The Winograd Schema Challenge asks computers to make sense of sentences that are ambiguous but usually simple for humans to parse. Disambiguating Winograd Schema sentences requires some common-sense understanding.

A.I. Avatars Invited to Play Minecraft Game

#artificialintelligence

In the pixelated cube world of "Minecraft," players can create almost anything their hearts desire. Now, Microsoft is using the popular world-building game to build and test artificial intelligence in the fictional environment. Microsoft has made a platform for artificial intelligence (A.I.) research using a modified version of "Minecraft" that will become available to the public following a limited release to select researchers. Project Malmo (formerly known as Project AIX) allows anyone from ambitious amateur coders to advanced computer scientists to build and test artificial intelligence in the "Minecraft" environment. "We?re trying to put out the tools that will allow people to make progress on those really, really hard research questions," Katja Hofmann, the project's lead researcher, said in a Microsoft blog post announcing the release.

FiveAI win equity funding to develop Level 5 vehicle autonomy - Artificial Intelligence Online

#artificialintelligence

A UK start-up developing artificial intelligence and machine learning for fully autonomous vehicles has received 2.7m in equity funding. The funding, led by Amadeus Capital Partners with Spring Partners and Notion Capital, will enable Bristol-based FiveAI to grow its team, step-up its development and begin simulator and road testing of its software. According to FiveAI, early approaches to autonomous vehicles have required accurate, 3D maps built using point cloud technology. In use, each vehicle then correlates against that map to work out where it is and establish a track to follow. The company is now planning a system using much stronger AI and ML to ensure that autonomous vehicles can safely and accurately navigate all environments, including complex urban ones, with simpler maps.

Add the Colorful Image Colorization microservice to your app today. Now, researchers and developers can train their deep learning models locally, and deploy them to Algorithmia's scalable, cloud infrastructure, where they become smart API endpoints for others developers to use. This means application developers can now obtain real-time predictions from deep learning models, and build production-ready apps using state-of-the-art machine intelligence in five-lines of code or less. Algorithms like this image colorizer join our collection of more than 2,200 algorithmic microservices.
