Unsupervised Machine Learning Hidden Markov Models in Python

#artificialintelligence

The Hidden Markov Model or HMM is all about learning sequences. A lot of the data that would be very useful for us to model is in sequences. Stock prices are sequences of prices. Language is a sequence of words. Credit scoring involves sequences of borrowing and repaying money, and we can use those sequences to predict whether or not you're going to default.

IBM will emphasize Watson and AI at new cloud computing center in South Korea

#artificialintelligence

IBM has opened a cloud data center in Pangyo, South Korea, bringing its total number of data centers to 47, with nine of them in the Asia-Pacific region, the company said today. The new center, outside Seoul, will help serve the cloud-services market in South Korea, which IDC said it expects to grow to 1 billion in 2019, from 445 million last year. The data center, built in collaboration with giant South Korean IT services provider SK Holdings C&C, will offer the standard Bluemix IBM cloud services and will emphasize helping local startups create cognitive apps and industry-specific services that use its IBM's Watson natural-language and machine learning offering. South Korean companies already using IBM's cloud include beauty-industry firm Amorepacific, social content-analysis firm Coolio, video game maker Gravity and data security startup UpRoot.

Salesforce to incorporate AI into CRM tools - Montash

#artificialintelligence

Though the big reveal is still several weeks away, Benioff has made some subtle hints about the tool.

Human-Level AI Is Coming By 2029

#artificialintelligence

When artificial intelligence is as smart as humans, the world will change forever. While technological change itself is neutral, neither good nor bad, AI's effects on society will be so powerful that they've been described in both utopian and apocalyptic terms. And some futurists think those changes are just on the horizon. That includes Ray Kurzweil -- author of five books on AI, including the recent best seller "How to Create a Mind," and founder of the futurist organization the Singularity University. He is currently working with Google to build more machine intelligence into their products.

These are the Jobs that Artificial Intelligence Will Eliminate First

#artificialintelligence

There are three buckets of jobs right now, and each one will be affected by artificial intelligence. So says Clara Shih, CEO of Hearsay Social and a director with Starbucks, during a conversation on Tuesday at Fortune Brainstorm Tech in Colorado. The first bucket, Shih says, are the jobs that almost certainly will disappear as AI and machine learning technologies continue to evolve and become more prevalent. This includes things like drivers (thanks to autonomous vehicles), lower-skilled manufacturing jobs (humans out, robots in), and certain research functions (paralegals, etc.). The second bucket, as researched by consulting groups like McKinsey & Co., are professions that require a literal human touch.

Apple Inc (AAPL): Machine Learning Emerges As the Primary Innovative Weapon

#artificialintelligence

When it comes to innovation in technology, one cannot simply ignore Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). It has turned out to be the biggest name in the tech sector with its operating system and services that make it unique amid competition. The tech juggernaut was the first major company to assimilate a smart assistant into its operating system (OS) known as Siri. It was the adaptation of a standalone application, which Apple had bought along with the brains behind its development in 2010. As the tech industry started to evolve rapidly, it also compelled the tech juggernauts to increase the pace of their innovation in their respective products and services. The evolution led Apple to realize the necessity of having an extensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) field, since AI has turned out to be one of the most heated competitions in the industry.

#artificialintelligence

Salesforce.com Inc. CEO has revealed the company is building a new artificial intelligence (AI) product called "Einstein," in a lengthy interview with Forbes. The article says that Salesforce's Einstein project is the reason why the company decided to shell out a massive 390 million to acquire responsive-email firm Relate IQ and its CEO Steve Loughlin almost two years ago. In addition, the project also explains why Salesforce has acquired no less than six AI-related startups in the last couple of years. "If this is not the next big thing, I don't know what is," Benioff told Forbes' writer Alex Konrad. The article portrays Benioff as a highly successful and hyper-energetic CEO who's built one of the fastest growing and most innovative tech firms around, seeking new innovation to drive the next stage of the company's growth.
