EAGO is a simple framework for evolutionary computation (EC) in Go. You can use this framework to run any kind of EC experiment, simply by two steps: configure and run. Following are algorithms that are available in this framework. More will be added with future updates. These are algorithms that are not implemented yet, but are planned to be added in the future.

A breakthrough will allow machines to learn by observing. This Turing Learning, as its inventors have named it, promises smarter drones that could detect militants engaging in behavior that could endanger troops, like planting roadside bombs. Still in its infancy, the new machine learning technique is named for British mathematician Alan Turing, whose famous test challenges artificial intelligences to fool a human into thinking he or she is conversing with another human. In Turing learning, a program dubbed the "classifier" tries to learn about a system designed to fool it. In certain ways, Turing Learning resembles many existing machine-learning systems.

When you talk to an AI chatbot, who do you think writes those professional, peppy responses? There's certainly an algorithm behind the scenes, but humans put together those phrases. Tech companies are creating teams of writers, including playwrights, poets, and novelists, to help write lines that don't sound like they came from a machine. The work can range from creating a consistent character for a chatbot, to inspiring an immersive virtual reality. Jonathan Foster, manager for Cortana's editorial team at Microsoft, heads a team of 22 writers around the world who help give Cortana, Microsoft's personal assistant, a consistent voice.

Salesforce, which has been dribbling out details of its grand plan to add artificial intelligence to its sales-and-marketing software for weeks, did a bigger reveal Sunday, a few weeks before its Dreamforce event and--not coincidentally--just as rival Oracle kicked off its annual Oracle OpenWorld tech conference. The timing is probably not a coincidence. Basically, Salesforce crm is adding more intelligence to each of its branded Marketing, Sales, Service, Commerce, and App clouds, with a mix of AI technologies built in-house and acquired in a series of acquisitions, including of RelateIQ in 2014 and Metamind last April. Salesforce Einstein, as the effort is known, seeks to help Salesforce customers wring real value out of the tons of data they generate. Salesforce.com Inc. is adding the smarts of artificial intelligence to the very human art of closing deals and marketing to customers. The company, which sells software for sales, marketing and other areas, is rolling out Salesforce Einstein, which aims to use AI tools to improve the company's broad portfolio of products, said John Ball, general manager of the service. The updates, announced Sunday, come after the company spent hundreds of millions of dollars on startups with capabilities in the field, along with its own development efforts. "There is an absolute revolution occurring in artificial intelligence," Ball said in a briefing, noting the team has more than 175 data scientists. "This is democratizing AI so that every company can benefit from these techniques."

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to move from the summer of hype to the fall tech conference news cycle, mass confusion has begun on what AI can be used for. From fears of SKYNET, to hopes for the computer in StarTrek and Jarvis in Iron Man, the value will come from defining the proper outcomes. AI is more than just a fad. With a market size of 100B by 2025, Constellation sees the AI subsets of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and cognitive computing taking the market by storm (see Figure 1). The disruptive nature of AI comes from the speed, precision, and capacity of augmenting humanity.

Say what you will about Salesforce, the company is always looking ahead. This afternoon, it announced Salesforce Einstein, its artificial intelligence (AI) initiative. The timing, which comes just ahead of rival Oracle's Open World keynote address, is probably not a coincidence. Regardless, the larger AI theme is something Salesforce has been working on across various pieces of its platform over the last couple of years. Today's announcement is about tying it together to show the breadth of this approach.

States across the Southeast are experiencing sharp jumps in gas prices after a major gasoline pipeline ruptured in central Alabama, spilling as many as 336,000 gallons of fuel upstream from a national wildlife refuge. But thanks to a few strokes of luck, the environmental damage is minimal. The pipeline breached near an old coal mine pit, and much of the fuel flowed into a water retention pond. With local streams dry -- much of central Alabama is suffering from moderate to severe drought -- the gasoline did not find its way down into the Cahaba River, home to 64 rare and endangered plant and animal species, including the Cahaba lily. "We really did bypass the bullet," said Myra Crawford, executive director at Cahaba Riverkeeper, which has been monitoring the area by canoe and foot."It

If there was any doubt that AI has officially arrived in the world of enterprise software, Salesforce just put it to rest. The CRM giant on Sunday announced Einstein, a set of artificial intelligence capabilities it says will help users of its platform serve their customers better. AI's potential to augment human capabilities has already been proven in multiple areas, but tapping it for a specific business purpose isn't always straightforward. "AI is out of reach for the vast majority of companies because it's really hard," John Ball, general manager for Salesforce Einstein, said in a press conference last week. With Einstein, Salesforce aims to change all that.
