Genpact Helps Companies Use Artificial Intelligence to Automate Processes and Anticipate Customer Needs
Genpact (NYSE: G), a global leader in digitally-powered business process management and services, today launched its Neural Intelligence Platform that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence technologies, and brings middle and back office processing to the same level of digital automation as the front office to drive seamless customer journeys. Using a cognitive system powered by natural language processing, machine and deep learning techniques, the platform provides a versatile artificial intelligence-based capability that digitizes many business process solutions, including omni-channel management, contact center, account payable query management, and financial and accounting automation. The platform is the result of more than a decade of research and development in high performance business processing practices, recently crystallized into digital solutions through an aggressive build out of advanced technologies including robotic process automation, natural language processing, and machine learning. The platform also leverages Genpact's unique Lean DigitalSM approach that harnesses the combined power of process-centric technologies, design thinking, and deep domain expertise.

The next step in achieving human-level ai is creating intelligent--but not autonomous--machines. What are some of the strategies you think will help mitigate the potential existential risks of artificial intelligence? Earlier this year, the korean Go champion Lee Sedol played a historic five-game match against Google's AlphaGo, an artificially intelligent computer program. As with nuclear technology, the worst-case scenario for strong AI--malevolent superintelligence turns on humanity and tries to kill it--would be globally devastating.
This is why your fears about artificial intelligence are wrong
Artificial intelligence will take over the world! "There's very smart people, whether it's Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates or Stephen Hawking, who have said, 'Oh my gosh, this is really dangerous,'" Hawkins said. Hawkins stressed that Numenta is specifically trying to reverse engineer only part of the human brain: The neocortex, which is what lets us learn and create a model of the world based on our environments and experiences. Scientists force computer to binge on TV shows and predict what humans will do
Researchers have taught a computer to do a better-than-expected job of predicting what characters on TV shows will do, just by forcing the machine to study 600 hours' worth of YouTube videos. The researchers developed predictive-vision software that uses machine learning to anticipate what actions should follow a given set of video frames. They grabbed thousands of videos showing humans greeting each other, and fed those videos into the algorithm. To test how much the machine was learning about human behavior, the researchers presented the computer with single frames that showed meet-ups between characters on TV sitcoms it had never seen, including "The Big Bang Theory," "Desperate Housewives" and "The Office."

The takeaway here is the machine learning allows companies to build better applications that interact with things people create: pictures, speech, text, and other messy things. Interfaces powered by machine learning will make computing omnipresent. Like their other products, both Google Search and Facebook Photos demonstrate how RDAs generate significant network effects. Or, you could have a giant install base which only occasionally codes data (Facebook, whose users tag photos usually when they're uploaded).
Stephen Hawking Gives Warning About Aliens, Robots And Nuclear Wars
The world's smartest physicist claims that Aliens, Robots and Nuclear Wars are currently the 3 major threats to humanity and have the potential to destroy the world within 100 years. A super intelligent AI will be extremely good at accomplishing it's goals, and if those goals aren't aligned with ours, we're in trouble," said Hawking. He further explained that if machines become too clever, they'll develop the ability to engineer themselves and become far more smarter than us โ their intelligence will exceed ours more than our exceeds that of snails. The conclusion is that if aliens and robots fail to outsmart us, we humans will let nuclear wars be the end of us!

The school's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab made one of its "neural networks" watch 600 hours of shows like "Desperate Housewives" and "The Office." The deep-learning program predicted the correct action more than 43% of the time when the video was paused one second before the real action. "We wanted to show that just by watching large amounts of video, computers can gain enough knowledge to consistently make predictions about their surroundings," said Carl Vondrick, a PhD student in computer science and artificial intelligence. Even though MIT's algorithms aren't accurate enough yet for real-world application, the study is another example of how technologists are trying to improve artificial intelligence.
Twitter Buys Another Machine Learning Startup
As if the technology needed any more promotion, Twitter announced its acquisition of a London-based company that has developed machine-learning techniques for visual processing. According to reports, Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) paid about 150 million for AI startup Magic Pony Technology. "Our team has researched and developed state-of-the-art machine learning techniques for visual processing that can identify the features of imagery and use that information to process it in new ways," said Rob Bishop, Magic Pony CEO and co-founder. The startup's technology reportedly works by combining neural networks designed to learn with machine learning tools to expand the amount of data in an image.
Increasing our Investment in Machine Learning Twitter Blogs
Today, we're very excited to announce that we're expanding our capabilities in machine learning by acquiring Magic Pony Technology, a London-based technology company that has developed novel machine learning techniques for visual processing. Magic Pony's technology โ based on research by the team to create algorithms that can understand the features of imagery โ will be used to enhance our strength in live and video and opens up a whole lot of exciting creative possibilities for Twitter. The team includes 11 PhDs with expertise across computer vision, machine learning, high-performance computing, and computational neuroscience, who are alumni of some of the top labs in the world. We are continuing to build strength into our deep learning teams with world-class talent to help Twitter be the best place to see what's happening and why it matters, first.
Google announced new AI based research center in Europe
Google also informed that why it took initiative to have a research center in Europe because world's top technical universities reside in Europe. This isn't Google first research center in Europe either. Google Germany, the research center for artificial intelligence in a nonprofit and base home to 450 scientists, academics and other researchers who work mostly on language technology, embedded intelligence, augmented reality, knowledge management and multimedia analysis, and data mining. Google later invested Oxford Universities AI research team in the startup project.
