The highlight of the year, the Geminids are the most active and colorful meteor shower, offering the chance to see hundreds of shooting stars every hour when they peak in mid-December. If you want to get into stargazing in 2025, there's still a chance to catch some of the best meteor showers of the year. Also known as shooting stars, meteors happen when Earth's orbital path crosses a path of debris left by a comet and that material burns up in the Earth's atmosphere. Watching a meteor shower is one of the most accessible ways to engage with the night sky. The next shower are the Geminids, a busy and bright shower that peaks in mid-December, offering the chance to see hundreds of shooting stars each hour.

Elsewhere, Hades II took best action game, Hollow Knight: Silksong won in best action/adventure and Arc Raiders won best multiplayer. There was a decent showing for the new(ish) Nintendo Switch 2, with Donkey Kong Bananza taking best family game and Mario Kart World scorching across the line with best sports/racing game.

They also discussed the principles for use of AI in evangelization. The theme of the meetings was a call to embrace AI responsibly.

The next game from designer Mike Booth is putting a sci-fi spin on his last game's co-op action, Booth and producer JJ Abrams shared at The Game Awards 2025. The new game is called, and it's the first project entirely developed by, film production company Bad Robot's game studio. Based on the trailer, players fight a mixture of aliens and robots in each mission, all in the hopes of eventually drawing the attention of an alien mothership and destroying it. Each time the four-player team succeeds in a mission, they make choices to improve their equipment, building out a unique kit to survive the epic boss battle at the end of the Act, Booth said .
