What is AI for Digital Marketing Cortex Blog
I found myself trying to explain my job to my mom last night. My amazing mom is a baby boomer, and she has never understood what I do. Marketing is a foreign concept to her, let alone artificial intelligence (AI) or how it applies to digital marketing. She is an active Facebook user, but she doesn't understand why certain friends never show up in her news feed. She is great at engaging with friends on Facebook, but most of "her" updates are actually published by my dad (who refuses to create his own "facepalm" profile).

Gab Scanu works alone, with a special operating licence for his UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority in Australia. The 20-year-old's drone photography shows a new perspective on well-known locations such as Sydney's Bondi beach, Mona Vale and other famous coastlines on the country's east coast. He has also travelled abroad and shot the LA coast at Malibu. The son of a cinematographer, Scanu has inherited a keen eye for photographic composition, capturing both the dramatic and the picturesque qualities of the Australian summer experience. He has developed a unique style and feel, using a combination of post production and drone technology to capture often never-before-seen landscape views.
Artificial Intelligence Movies: Top 10 AI Movies - Datamation
Artificial intelligence (AI) has long been a staple of science fiction, but in recent years, technology has improved to the point where real-world AI systems have become usable. In fact, Markets and Markets predicts that that the worldwide market for AI systems could be worth $16.06 billion by 2022. Interestingly, as AI becomes a bigger part of daily life, it also seems to be playing a bigger role in the entertainment industry. Already this decade, filmmakers have put out at least 30 feature films featuring an A.I. character in a key role. By comparison, our research turned up just 19 notable AI movies from the 2000s, 14 from the 1990s and 10 from the 1980s.

New exhibition explores the quest to make machines human
An army of robots has invaded London's Science Museum on a mission to teach humans their 500-year-old history. Opening on Wednesday, the new exhibition explores humanity's centuries old quest to re-imagine people as moving, talking and thinking machines. More than 100 robots are on display, ranging from a 16th century automaton monk to characters from science fiction films and research lab creations. London's Science Museum is hosting an exhibition to teach visitors about the rise of the robots over the last 500 years. Pictured is a Telenoid communication android from Japan on display.
Watch Darpa's Creepy 'Project SideArm' Pluck a Drone Out of the Air
Quadcopter drones are great for aerial photography, racing, and backing up Lady Gaga during the Super Bowl halftime show. But puny propellers don't cut it for serious jobs, which is why military missions and humanitarian aid drops use unmanned aerial drones that resemble airplanes. Fixed-wing drones can fly further and carry more. The trouble is, winged aircraft can't takeoff or land vertically like quadcopters, and the hybrid machines that combine the utility of wings and the ease of quads tend to be complex and expensive. Further compounding the challenge, fixed-wing drones need runaways, which you don't often find in the remote locations where drones are most useful.
Our Bots, Ourselves
In the coming decades, artificial intelligence will replace a lot of human jobs, from driving trucks to analyzing X-rays. But it will also work with us, taking over mundane personal tasks and enhancing our cognitive capabilities. As AI continues to improve, digital assistants--often in the form of disembodied voices--will become our helpers and collaborators, managing our schedules, guiding us through decisions, and making us better at our jobs. We'll have something akin to Samantha from the movie Her or Jarvis from Iron Man: AI "agents" that know our likes and dislikes, and that free us up to focus on what humans do best, or what we most enjoy. Anyone who's used Siri (on Apple products) or Alexa (on Amazon Echo) has already spoken with a digital assistant.

Bayesian inference is a way to get sharper predictions from your data. It's particularly useful when you don't have as much data as you would like and want to juice every last bit of predictive strength from it. Although it is sometimes described with reverence, Bayesian inference isn't magic or mystical. And even though the math under the hood can get dense, the concepts behind it are completely accessible. In brief, Bayesian inference lets you draw stronger conclusions from your data by folding in what you already know about the answer. Bayesian inference is based on the ideas of Thomas Bayes, a nonconformist Presbyterian minister in London about 300 years ago. He wrote two books, one on theology, and one on probability. His work included his now famous Bayes Theorem in raw form, which has since been applied to the problem of inference, the technical term for educated guessing. The popularity of Bayes' ideas was aided immeasurably by another minister, Richard Price. He saw their significance, refined them and published them. It would be more accurate and historically just to call Bayes' Theorem the Bayes-Price Rule.
