Just how close are we to living in Tomorrow's World?

#artificialintelligence

One of the problems with working out how close we are to creating a replicant, is that it's not clear what these human-like beings are. Director of the new Blade Runner 2049, Denis Villeneuve, has described them as "synthetic humans", which are "not very far from humans". What's clear from the original film is that they are some kind of biorobotic form. Let's for a moment assume they are more like robots than clones and, indeed, in the original Philip K Dick account they are explicitly rogue androids. How close are we to creating an android? Sethu Vijayakumar, Professor of Robotics at the University of Edinburgh, observes that there are two elements to this.

Introduction To Machine Learning In Azure

@machinelearnbot

In this article, we will see what machine learning is and how it differs from traditional programming. The first question is "What is Machine Learning?" Machine Learning can be defined as building a model from given inputs to make data-driven predictions. It means that the system learns how to solve a problem from example data rather than you writing a specific logic. In traditional programming, we analyze the problem and then write code; this code reads the data and uses the control logic in the code to determine the correct parts of the program to execute; which then produces the correct result.

Five advanced Chromecast hacks to level up your streaming experience

Popular Science

The Google Home smart speaker can work seamlessly with one or more Chromecasts. Once you've set up both your speaker and your streaming device(s), the Google Home app can coordinate actions between the two. To play music, movies, or shows--no tapping or selecting required--simply say "OK Google" and tell your Home device to play whatever you want to see or hear on whatever you've named your Chromecast. For example, say "OK Google, play cat videos on the living room TV," or "OK Google, play classical music on the bedroom TV." (If you originally gave your Chromecast a confusing or unpronounceable name, this application gives you a good reason to change it--you can rename it in the Google Home app.) When Google Home follows your commands, it will by default play videos on YouTube and music on Google Play Music.

Miss the Hi-Fi? Google, Apple & Sonos amp up their smart speakers

USATODAY - Tech Top Stories

Four new features that make Google Home a better connected speaker than it was--but it still has growing pains, reports USA TODAY's Jefferson Graham on Talking Tech. SAN FRANCISCO -- In another era, young tech geeks saved their money for a state-of-the-art stereo system: a great turntable, powerful amplifier and an absolute killer set of stereo hi-fi speakers. That went away with the advent of digital and listening to music on computers, then phones and earbuds or tiny, portable speakers. Cut to 2017, and it's the odd return to the loud-speaker wars. Dive into Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence with this newbie training

But ask an engineer or software developer what it's like to create artificial intelligence and… well, that's a whole different level of building for the web. Even though machine learning may feel more like a sci-fi movie than reality, it's a lot closer -- and a lot more doable -- than you might think. You'll learn how possible it is for even novice web creators to get a firm grip on AI with the Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence Introductory Bundle. With this training, you'll learn how to create the model for a machine that can learn from multiple inputs; go inside logistic regression (a key pillar in the architecture of Deep Learning); build your very first neural network, and utilize the powerful Theano and TensorFlow Python libraries.
