r/MachineLearning - [R] Better-than-Demonstrator Imitation Learning via Automatically-Ranked Demonstrations
It seems to be the only paper in which an agent manages to outperform the sub-optimal players it learns from. I think this probably is an important step forward since eventually we would like to create programs that act in the real world and perform tasks better than us without having to code a reward function. A short term application of this could be in self-driving cars, allowing them to learn from human drivers and be safer than them.

Top Movies Of 2019 That Depicted Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial intelligence (AI) is creating a great impact on the world by enabling computers to learn on their own. While in the real world AI is still focused on solving narrow problems, we see a whole different face of AI in the fictional world of science fiction movies -- which predominantly depict the rise of artificial general intelligence as a threat for human civilization. But advances in technology mean it is now possible to ask an artificial intelligence (AI) for its views on the coming year. We asked an AI called GPT-2, created by OpenAI, a research outfit. GPT-2 is an "unsupervised language model" trained using 40 gigabytes of text from the internet.
"Hinglish" Language -- Modeling a Messy Code-Mixed Language
With a sharp rise in fluency and users of "Hinglish" in linguistically diverse country, India, it has increasingly become important to analyze social content written in this language in platforms such as Twitter, Reddit, Facebook. This project focuses on using deep learning techniques to tackle a classification problem in categorizing social content written in Hindi-English into Abusive, Hate-Inducing and Not offensive categories. We utilize bi-directional sequence models with easy text augmentation techniques such as synonym replacement, random insertion, random swap, and random deletion to produce a state of the art classifier that outperforms the previous work done on analyzing this dataset.
r/MachineLearning - [D] Q on "Language Modeling with Gated Convolutional Networks "
Just from looking at the picture, I believe that W could be describing the weights from a final output layer, which is pretty standard to apply before a soft max. You might need to look at the code of the paper if it exists to double check, but I don't think the W relates to the W in the gated conv layers.
