Blessing robots: Is a technological reformation coming? - Religion News Service

The woman startled at the blessing. In English: "I have called you by name; you are mine!" It may not have been the words themselves that caused her to jump. The blessing, taken from the biblical book of Isaiah, has comforted many for thousands of years. It may have been the source of the benediction: A robot built on the body of an ATM machine, whose plastic fingers sprung open and palms lit up as it raised its mechanic hands in blessing, brightening an otherwise gray, rainy day in mid-June.

Dan Gainor: Media criticize killing of Iranian terrorist Soleimani and glorify him

FOX News

The U.S. drone strike this week that killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani โ€“ a terrorist murderer responsible for thousands of deaths โ€“ resulted in extensive news coverage that criticized President Trump for ordering his killing and falsely portrayed Soleimani in a positive light. Journalists couldn't pile on enough praise or make enough ridiculous comparisons glorifying Soleimani โ€“ from the despicable to the ridiculous. He was like Gen. George Patton or the Duke of Wellington (Business Insider), and former French President Charles de Gaulle or the French Foreign Legion (CNN). That strategy was hardly new. Back in 2017, Time magazine piled on the praise, saying Soleimani was "James Bond, Erwin Rommel and Lady Gaga rolled into one." Wacky leftist "Young Turks" correspondent/producer Emma Vigeland joined the postmortem comparison chorus with her own oddball take: "Imagine the Iranian government assassinated Mike Pompeo with a drone, at the direction of the president, and called it self-defense," she wrote.

Plenty of straight-up action movies and even dramas now include AI as a key part of the plot. But one part of AI you may not have considered is emotion. In today's world, people debate as to whether an AI even could have emotion. How do filmmakers interpret those real-life concepts into their own AI in movies?
