#artificialintelligence

As artificial intelligence becomes commonplace across industries, more companies are looking to add a dedicated leader to the C-suite.

Hidden in Plain Sight: PR 20/20 Shows Businesses That the Benefits of AI are Already Here.

#artificialintelligence

Paul Roetzer: There's no general artificial intelligence where you buy a marketing platform and it does your email, social, advertising, etc. – you have to teach it. When you get started, you're looking for repetitive tasks that take a lot of time and energy or that would be more valuable with intelligent automation. Then you find a solution that's built to do that. Sometimes it's in your existing technology – you may be working with a major tech platform company with built-in AI features. Start by turning on new features that do things smarter, then find vendors building things like email send-time optimization, media buying optimization, email subject line writing, or social media sharing.

Microsoft Is Replacing Employees With AI…And Other Small Business Tech News

#artificialintelligence

Here are five things in technology that happened this past week and how they affect your business. This past week it was announced that Microsoft has let go several journalists and instead will be implementing AI (Artificial Intelligence) that has the ability to perform those same jobs. Nearly 30 journalists were given a month's notice following Microsoft's decision to no longer employ people who would research, edit, and choose the various news articles for one of their pages. While the individuals who worked on the site run by Microsoft did not write the stories they were curating, they did edit and pick stories from other news outlets and occasionally edit headlines and material when needed. My firm implements some Microsoft products.

Towards an Argument Mining Pipeline Transforming Texts to Argument Graphs

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

This paper targets the automated extraction of components of argumentative information and their relations from natural language text. Moreover, we address a current lack of systems to provide complete argumentative structure from arbitrary natural language text for general usage. We present an argument mining pipeline as a universally applicable approach for transforming German and English language texts to graph-based argument representations. We also introduce new methods for evaluating the results based on existing benchmark argument structures. Our results show that the generated argument graphs can be beneficial to detect new connections between different statements of an argumentative text. Our pipeline implementation is publicly available on GitHub.

r/MachineLearning - [P] Softmax Regression implementation using NumPy

#artificialintelligence

I implemented a Softmax Regression classifier using batch gradient descent and early stopping using just NumPy. I tried to follow Scikit-learn's interface approach where possible, with 2 methods available to the user: fit and predict, with options for various levels of regularization and various learning parameters (such as the step size). The ReadMe explains how to use it properly, and the Jupyter notebook demonstrates how to make predictions with it. Let me know what you think and if you've any feedback please share it, thanks:)
