Podcast: Juniper CTO on creating an AI-driven enterprise
Juniper CTO Raj Yavatkar joins the Light Reading podcast to discuss Juniper's strategy to use machine learning and AI to help customers build "self-driving" enterprise networks. The acquisition of Mist Systems brought that capability to Wi-Fi access points, he explains. Once Juniper completes its acquisition of 128 Technology, it can improve on its AI-driven approach to its SD-WAN and WAN assurance offerings, too. You can find all of Light Reading's editorial and custom audio programs on Apple Podcasts, Google, SoundCloud or Spotify.
Neo4j Announces First Graph Machine Learning for the Enterprise
Neo4j, the leader in graph technology, announced the latest version of Neo4j for Graph Data Science, a breakthrough that democratizes advanced graph-based machine learning (ML) techniques by leveraging deep learning and graph convolutional neural networks. Until now, few companies outside of Google and Facebook have had the AI foresight and resources to leverage graph embeddings. This powerful and innovative technique calculates the shape of the surrounding network for each piece of data inside of a graph, enabling far better machine learning predictions. Neo4j for Graph Data Science version 1.4 democratizes these innovations to upend the way enterprises make predictions in diverse scenarios from fraud detection to tracking customer or patient journey, to drug discovery and knowledge graph completion. Neo4j for Graph Data Science version 1.4 is the first and only graph-native machine learning functionality commercially available for enterprises.
Photoshop's new AI-powered Neural Filters include emotion editing
Perhaps we spoke a tad too soon. Adobe has extended the AI-enhanced capabilities of its Photoshop image editing software to include instant sky replacement, some super-easy selection tools and some early Neural Filters, including emotion editing. It all rolled out today in an update for Creative Cloud subscribers. Probably the most useful to experienced image editors will be the new selection tools, which use Adobe's Sensei AI algorithms to improve the software's ability to quickly draw selection lines around complex objects, in particular where tricky hair, complex backgrounds and objects that blend into the background somewhat. Sky replacement is a very neat feature that does a pretty amazing job of intelligently selecting the sky in your image and dropping in one of a couple dozen standard alternatives โ or letting you upload your own sky images to get exactly the look you want.
Amazon Echo Dot (2020) review: Well-rounded in every sense
Amazon's smallest Echo has evolved quite a bit over the years. The first Amazon Echo Dot was small and puck-like but didn't have very good audio. In 2018, the company upgraded the Dot's speakers to a new 1.6-inch driver that gave it a lot more bass and overall better performance, plus it had a much more stylish fabric-clad exterior. Last year, Amazon added a new model called the Echo Dot with Clock, which is basically the same thing but with a digital clock on the front. In 2020, however, the company has decided to goโฆ round.
[P] Multimodal Emotion Recognition Competition 2020 (MERC 2020)
This competition aims at developing the state-of-the-art models for emotion recognition from emotion-labelled facial videos with facial, speech, and text data. Participants are expected to put their efforts for obtaining the highest accuracy of recognizing one out of 7-classes, i.e., the neural and 6 emotions. The rank of participating teams will be determined by the order of their final scores.
[R] A Bayesian Perspective on Q-Learning
Sounds good, looks like I'll be making another exposition then! So in terms of making interactive documents like this, you have a few options. I'll list them in order of easiest to hardest (assuming you code in python and don't know much web dev): You will see that you can set up various toggles to run your visualizations. The one drawback is that it's not as interactive in "real time" because every time you reconfigure the parameters you have to re-run the cell to show the results. If you're interested in this approach just add a cell block, then click on the three dots, and then click "Add a form".
