Can world knowledge learned by large language models (LLMs) be used to act in interactive environments? In this paper, we investigate the possibility of grounding high-level tasks, expressed in natural language (e.g. "make breakfast"), to a chosen set of actionable steps (e.g. "open fridge"). While prior work focused on learning from explicit step-by-step examples of how to act, we surprisingly find that if pre-trained LMs are large enough and prompted appropriately, they can effectively decompose high-level tasks into low-level plans without any further training. However, the plans produced naively by LLMs often cannot map precisely to admissible actions. We propose a procedure that conditions on existing demonstrations and semantically translates the plans to admissible actions. Our evaluation in the recent VirtualHome environment shows that the resulting method substantially improves executability over the LLM baseline. The conducted human evaluation reveals a trade-off between executability and correctness but shows a promising sign towards extracting actionable knowledge from language models. I give a short introduction to data ethics. My focal audience is mathematicians, but I hope that my discussion will also be useful to others. I am not an expert about data ethics, and my article is only a starting point. I encourage readers to examine the resources that I discuss and to continue to reflect carefully on data ethics and on the societal implications of data and data analysis throughout their lives.

Two years after the story's "futuristic setting" of 2019, humans are exploring much more specific AI use cases that are nothing like those spun out in the science fiction story. Instead of having to distinguish android "replicants" from real humans, many people are struggling to disambiguate terms such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML). These terms have all become buzzwords commonly found in the business and tech world.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a category of software that can do things that would normally need human intelligence, like vision, speech recognition, decision-making, and language translation. Artificial intelligence does not have to be sentient; in fact, the term "artificial intelligence" was coined to differentiate it from natural intelligence. It can also apply to any technology that enables computers or machines to perform jobs that would otherwise necessitate human intelligence. An AI can study the data strings it needs to complete its work. The machine will analyze the data and use it to improve its overall performance. As a result, the machine can respond fast to a crisis.

An artificial intelligence tool recently mapped out processes that drive people to success in creative careers. Every being understands that creativity is not continuous - its flow is interrupted based on our external surroundings and mental well-being. While one may experience a creative burst for a week, the one following it may be filled with a creative lull. This isn't strange, it's just human nature (unless you're on hard drugs - which we do not endorse). Periods of immense creative energy are followed by success for people experiencing a "hot streak".
