The first Swiss AI Report is addressing the trend around artificial intelligence (AI) and helping companies to orient themselves in the complex area of innovation. For this, Mindfire, a foundation specializing in AI, has joined forces with the think tank W.I.R.E. to assess the AI activities of 92 Swiss companies from a variety of sectors. This involved startups, SMEs, and even IT giants such as Google. In actual fact, AI is already firmly integrated into the day-to-day business of many companies. Stefan Pabstof W.I.R.E states: "Those who take the matter seriously prioritize it and want to thoroughly understand it to be able to fully exploit its potential."

The next Dragon Age game is still a long ways off, but that isn't stopping BioWare from expanding the fantasy RPG's reach. Netflix has unveiled a six-episode anime series, Dragon Age: Absolution, premiering sometime in December. The teaser trailer (below) doesn't reveal much, but you can expect a "new saga" in Tevinter that appears to center on a special ring -- and, of course, plenty of magic and bloody swordplay. Red Dog Culture House (which created an episode for Love, Death & Robots) is producing the limited-run project. Guardians of the Galaxy series producer Mairghread Scott is serving as the showrunner.

Fox News correspondent David Spunt has the latest on Congress' response to the failed assassination attempt of Justice Brett Kavanaugh on'Special Report.' Washington Post deputy editorial editor Ruth Marcus wants to make sure people are aware "deranged individuals do deranged things" on "both ends of the political spectrum" before assigning blame for the man who was arrested near the Maryland home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. On Wednesday, an armed California man identified as Nicholas John Roske was carrying a gun, knife and pepper spray when arrested outside Kavanaugh's home. He told officers that he wanted "to give his life purpose" and purchased the gun and other items for the purpose of breaking into Kavanaugh's home and killing the justice and then himself. A piece published Thursday night by Marcus headlined, "The Kavanaugh threat exposed weaknesses in judicial security -- and our discourse," admitted the incident "could have ended in unfathomable tragedy" but urged readers not to assign blame or dismiss people who created the environment that "fueled" the assassination attempt.

Grammy-winning artists are already gamers. Jon Batiste, the jazz musician and bandleader for "The Late Show," told The Post in 2019 that the scores and soundtracks in video games first inspired him to become a musician. In April, Batiste took home five Grammys, including one for album of the year. He told The Post his favorite game is "Final Fantasy VII" from Square Enix, which boasts a four-hour score with melodic interludes and climactic, operatic tracks for the boss battles.

One such man who has spent much of his life pursuing the advancement of artificial intelligence is programmer David Hanson. Hanson is the man behind Sophia, an artificially intelligent robot that is the centre of a documentary airing in theatres later this fall. Deadline has the scoop on the people behind the documentary, dubbed Sophia and offered fans a first glimpse of what to expect courtesy of a trailer. Sophia, centres on one of the world's most advanced artificial life forms created by programmer David Hanson. The documentary focuses on Hanson and his goal of creating empathetic artificial lifeforms, such as Sophia.

Its fellow countdown – run by ABC Classic – usually does not. As its name implies, the Classic 100 is typically a more subdued affair.
