Framework for 2D Ad placements in LinearTV

Virtual Product placement(VPP) is the advertising technique of digitally placing a branded object into the scene of a movie or TV show. This type of advertising provides the ability for brands to reach consumers without interrupting the viewing experience with a commercial break, as the products are seen in the background or as props. Despite this being a billion-dollar industry, ad rendering technique is currently executed at post production stage, manually either with the help of VFx artists or through semi-automated solutions. In this paper, we demonstrate a fully automated framework to digitally place 2-D ads in linear TV cooking shows captured using single-view camera with small camera movements. Without access to full video or production camera configuration, this framework performs the following tasks (i) identifying empty space for 2-D ad placement (ii) kitchen scene understanding (iii) occlusion handling (iv) ambient lighting and (v) ad tracking.
MAP-Music2Vec: A Simple and Effective Baseline for Self-Supervised Music Audio Representation Learning

The deep learning community has witnessed an exponentially growing interest in self-supervised learning (SSL). However, it still remains unexplored how to build a framework for learning useful representations of raw music waveforms in a self-supervised manner. In this work, we design Music2Vec, a framework exploring different SSL algorithmic components and tricks for music audio recordings. Our model achieves comparable results to the state-of-the-art (SOTA) music SSL model Jukebox, despite being significantly smaller with less than 2% of parameters of the latter. Automatic Generation of Factual News Headlines in Finnish

We present a novel approach to generating news headlines in Finnish for a given news story. We model this as a summarization task where a model is given a news article, and its task is to produce a concise headline describing the main topic of the article. Because there are no openly available GPT-2 models for Finnish, we will first build such a model using several corpora. The model is then fine-tuned for the headline generation task using a massive news corpus. The system is evaluated by 3 expert journalists working in a Finnish media house. The results showcase the usability of the presented approach as a headline suggestion tool to facilitate the news production process.

Disney Made a Movie Quality AI Tool
Further demonstrating the power of artificial intelligence when it comes to photorealistically altering footage, researchers from Disney have revealed a new aging/de-aging tool that can make an actor look convincingly older or younger, without the need for weeks of complex and expensive visual effects work. When watching a blockbuster movie like 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, most viewers can easily spot the work of the many visual effects studios that contribute to these films, what with their flashy moments when Ant-Man shrinks or grows to gigantic proportions. But it's sometimes the more subtle VFX work that can be the hardest to achieve photorealistic results with, like the shots featuring younger versions of actors Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas. To get results like those seen in the movie, talented artists either need to spend weeks erasing wrinkles and other telltale signs of age from an actor's face, or entirely replace it with a computer-generated double.

Professors, programmers and journalists could all be out of a job in just a few years, after the latest chatbot from the Elon Musk-founded OpenAI foundation stunned onlookers with its writing ability, proficiency at complex tasks, and ease of use. The system, called ChatGPT, is the latest evolution of the GPT family of text-generating AIs. Two years ago, the team's previous AI, GPT3, was able to generate an opinion piece for the Guardian, and ChatGPT has significant further capabilities. In the days since it was released, academics have generated responses to exam queries that they say would result in full marks if submitted by an undergraduate, and programmers have used the tool to solve coding challenges in obscure programming languages in a matter of seconds – before writing limericks explaining the functionality. Dan Gillmor, a journalism professor at Arizona State University, asked the AI to handle one of the assignments he gives his students: writing a letter to a relative giving advice regarding online security and privacy.
