As US Army researcher believes that wars will be fought with human soldiers commanding a team of'physical and cyber robots' to create a network of "Internet of Battle Things" in the future. "Internet of Intelligent Battle Things (IOBT) is the emerging reality of warfare," as AI and machine learning advances Alexander Kott, chief of the Network Science Division of the US Army Research Laboratory. He envisions a future where physical robots are able to fly, crawl, walk, or ride into battle. The robots as small as insects can be used as sensors, and the ones as big as large vehicles can carry troops and supplies. There will also be "cyber robots", basically autonomous programmes, used within computers and networks to protect communications, fact-check, relay information, and protect other electronic devices from enemy malware. "In order to be effective in performing these functions, battle things will have to collaborate with each other, and also with the human warfighters.

Nasa has found an entire solar system with as many planets as our own. The discovery of a new planet around the Kepler-90 star, which looks like our own sun, means the distant solar system has a total of eight known planets. And those planets look like those in our own neighbourhood: rocky planets orbit close to the star, with gas giants further away. The star and its family of planets were already known about, having been detected by the Kepler space telescope. But the breakthrough came when astronomers found the new world, which was done using Google's artificial intelligence technology.

Twenty-four EU countries sign artificial intelligence pact in bid to compete with US & China
Twenty-four EU countries pledged to band together to form a "European approach" to artificial intelligence in a bid to compete with American and Asian tech giants. Ministers signed a declaration on Tuesday (10 April) saying they will consider putting public research funding into AI, but did not promise a specific amount of dedicated new investments. All EU member states except for Cyprus, Romania, Croatia and Greece vowed to "modernise national policies" as part of an effort to develop large-scale AI research. One Commission official said the four EU countries that did not sign were not opposed to the initiative but might still need formal approval before signing. Norway also signed the declaration.
