Iran on Tuesday unveiled a new armed drone bearing resemblance to America's MQ-9 Reaper, with state media claiming it has the operational range to reach Israel. The Mohajer-10 was showcased during a ceremony celebrating the Islamic Republic's Defense Industry Day. The drone can fly non-stop for 24 hours with an operational range of around 1,200 miles and is capable of carrying a bomb payload of up to 660 pounds, according to the state-run IRNA News Agency.

The Iranian Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics unveiled the Mohajer-10 on Tuesday as part of an exhibition and ceremonies marking Defence Industry Day. President Ebrahim Raisi and senior commanders in the army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attended the event. The unmanned attack aircraft, which resembles the MQ-9 Reaper manufactured by the United States, was also shown in videos taking off from an unidentified airstrip and flying. It is said to be capable of carrying a variety of bombs and anti-radar equipment and of conducting surveillance.

Microsoft submits new Activision Blizzard deal to UK regulator

Microsoft has filed changes to its proposed takeover of the video game maker Activision Blizzard, in an attempt to win over the UK competition regulator, which previously blocked the $69bn (ยฃ54bn) deal. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on Tuesday said it would investigate the new proposals, under which Microsoft will not acquire cloud rights outside Europe for existing Activision desktop computer and console games, or for new games released by the developer during the next 15 years. The move revives the US tech company's hopes of completing the takeover of the owner of hit titles such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Candy Crush after the CMA in April blocked it, citing concerns it could allow the company to dominate the nascent cloud gaming market. Streaming games from cloud servers is at present a small niche, but the CMA argued that the takeover of a maker of blockbuster games by the leading provider of cloud gaming could prevent healthy competition from forming. However, the UK regulator had appeared increasingly isolated after its EU counterparts passed the deal and the US competition regulator lost a court request to block it. Microsoft had reacted with fury when the UK initially blocked the deal.

The Moscow mayor did not give details on damage or casualties in what is the latest attempted drone raid on the Russian capital. Air traffic at Moscow's Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports was briefly halted, Russia's state news agency TASS reported, quoting an aviation service source as saying. "Glass damage was recorded on several floors" in a multi-storey residential building in Krasnogorsk," the news agency said, without specifying whether it was the result of a drone strike.

Regression analysis is a key area of interest in the field of data analysis and machine learning which is devoted to exploring the dependencies between variables, often using vectors. The emergence of high dimensional data in technologies such as neuroimaging, computer vision, climatology and social networks, has brought challenges to traditional data representation methods. Tensors, as high dimensional extensions of vectors, are considered as natural representations of high dimensional data. In this book, the authors provide a systematic study and analysis of tensor-based regression models and their applications in recent years. It groups and illustrates the existing tensor-based regression methods and covers the basics, core ideas, and theoretical characteristics of most tensor-based regression methods. On the Uses of Large Language Models to Interpret Ambiguous Cyberattack Descriptions

The volume, variety, and velocity of change in vulnerabilities and exploits have made incident threat analysis challenging with human expertise and experience along. Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) are to describe how and why attackers exploit vulnerabilities. However, a TTP description written by one security professional can be interpreted very differently by another, leading to confusion in cybersecurity operations or even business, policy, and legal decisions. Meanwhile, advancements in AI have led to the increasing use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms to assist the various tasks in cyber operations. With the rise of Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP tasks have significantly improved because of the LLM's semantic understanding and scalability. This leads us to question how well LLMs can interpret TTPs or general cyberattack descriptions to inform analysts of the intended purposes of cyberattacks. We propose to analyze and compare the direct use of LLMs (e.g., GPT-3.5) versus supervised fine-tuning (SFT) of small-scale-LLMs (e.g., BERT) to study their capabilities in predicting ATT&CK tactics. Our results reveal that the small-scale-LLMs with SFT provide a more focused and clearer differentiation between the ATT&CK tactics (if such differentiation exists). On the other hand, direct use of LLMs offer a broader interpretation of cyberattack techniques. When treating more general cases, despite the power of LLMs, inherent ambiguity exists and limits their predictive power. We then summarize the challenges and recommend research directions on LLMs to treat the inherent ambiguity of TTP descriptions used in various cyber operations.
