OnlyFans owner was paid over 700m before his death
The late owner of streaming platform OnlyFans was paid more than $700m (£513m) in dividends before his death from cancer earlier this year. Fenix International Ltd, the British company that owns OnlyFans, made $714m in profit before tax last year, it said in its annual report. This is an increase of 5% from 2024. The site hosts a range of subscription-based content from cooking to fitness videos, but it is best known for pornography and is credited with transforming online adult content by encouraging personal connection between sex workers and subscribers. Its owner Leonid Radvinsky, who died earlier this year aged 43, bought the site from its British founders in 2018.
US building twice as much gas-fired capacity as China in AI boom, analysis finds

When adding announced and pre-construction projects, the US is building nearly three times as much as its fellow global economic powerhouse. There has been a 76% increase in under-construction gas-fired projects amid'frenzy' to build more datacenters Tue 25 Aug 2026 06.00 EDTLast modified on Tue 25 Aug 2026 09.12 EDT The US has surged ahead of China in the building of new gas-fired power generation, largely to feed a boom in artificial intelligence (AI) that is adding vast amounts of planet-heating emissions, a new analysis has found. For decades, China's rapid economic growth has seen it outpace the US in the addition of new gas power generation but a recent "frenzy" in datacenter construction for AI has reversed this, said Global Energy Monitor (Gem) in its new report. The US is now building twice as much gas-fired capacity as China, and more than any other country in the world, after a stunning 76% increase in under-construction projects in the first half of this year.
Border Wall Construction Threatens 6,000 Years of History on Private Lands
Archeologists are confronting an "unfathomable" loss as the US border wall is set to cut across ranches that are home to unique historical sites in Texas, many of which haven't been fully studied. Outrage has exploded over border infrastructure that recently began tearing up pristine desert landscapes in Big Bend National Park. But there's a quieter battle taking place on private lands in Texas, where the US border wall is set to cut across some of North America's richest archaeological sites, digging up ancient indigenous artifacts and fracturing millennia-old rock art in its path. The US Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection awarded billions of dollars in contracts this year toward the construction of a wall and other barriers in West Texas along a remote 500-plus-mile (800-plus-kilometer) riverfront expanse of the US-Mexico border that includes Big Bend National Park and other idyllic parklands. Bipartisan backlash against border wall construction in the national park was swift, ultimately prompting DHS to scuttle plans for a 30-foot steel bollard wall, instead replacing it with miles of riverside vehicle barriers and 200-plus miles of road construction.
It Should Be Harder to Apply for a Job. No, Really
It Should Be Harder to Apply for a Job. Thanks to a dwindling supply of open roles, "one-click" applications, and the rise of artificial intelligence, it's easier than ever to apply for a job. Three years ago, Andrew Stockwell had his hiring routine down to a science. As head of people for the software-buying company Vendr, Stockwell posted a listing, waited a few days, and then reviewed a few dozen applications--up to 100, if he was lucky. Recruiters identified other potential candidates, adding a few more applicants to the mix.
