Fuzzy Longest Common Subsequence Matching With FCM Using R

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Capturing the interdependencies between real valued time series can be achieved by finding common similar patterns. The abstraction of time series makes the process of finding similarities closer to the way as humans do. Therefore, the abstraction by means of a symbolic levels and finding the common patterns attracts researchers. One particular algorithm, Longest Common Subsequence, has been used successfully as a simila rity measure between two sequences including real valued time series. In this paper, we propose Fuzzy Longest Common Subsequence matching for time series.

Is the first edition of AI: A modern approach still relevant? • /r/artificial

#artificialintelligence

Just picked up a super cheap copy of Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach from the local charity shop. The only problem is that it's 1st edition. As far as I'm aware the 1st edition is quite old now but since I'm just beginning to learn about AI, is it still ok to start with? I know some of the content will be obsolete but I would assume it covers the basics quite well?

Student and Faculty Guide – 10 easy steps to get up and running with Azure Machine Learning

#artificialintelligence

My colleague Amy Nicholson is the UK expert on Azure Machine Learning, the following blog post is after a quizzing session to get understand how to get started with Azure Machine Learning" Each student receives $100 of Azure credit per month, for 6 months. The Faculty member receives $250 per month, for 12 months. The Azure machine learning team provided a very nice walkthrough tutorial which covers a lot of the basics. This tutorial is really useful as it takes you through the entire process of creating an AzureML workspace, uploading data, creating an experiment to predict someone's credit risk, building, training, and evaluating the models, publishing your best model as a web service, and calling that web service. Now you need to learn how to import a data set into Azure Machine Learning, and where to find interesting data to build something amazing.

Artificial Intelligence is Leading a Revolution in Medicine

#artificialintelligence

Deep learning works by providing AI systems with huge amounts of data so it can learn to identify patterns and recognize important features, trends, and "decisions" to be made in processes such as playing a game or rendering a diagnosis. Deep learning has already made huge strides in detecting financial transaction fraud, making voice recognition systems like Siri work, and recognizing faces and patterns in photographs.

109 Commonly Asked Data Science Interview Questions

What is the Central Limit Theorem and why is it important? How many sampling methods do you know? What is the difference between Type I vs Type II error? What do the terms P-value, coefficient, R-Squared value mean? What is the significance of each of these components? What are the assumptions required for linear regression? There are four major assumptions: 1. There is a linear relationship between the variables, meaning the model you are creating actually fits the data, 2. The errors or residuals of the data are normally distributed and independent from each other, 3. There is minimal multicollinearity between explanatory variables, and 4. Homoscedasticity. This means the variance around the regression line is the same for all values of the predictor variable. What is an example of a dataset with a non-Gaussian distribution?

Sales, Marketing Poised for AI Revolution Trends

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence will revolutionize marketing in the next five years, according to survey results Demandbase released this week. Eighty percent of the 500 B2B marketers who participated in the online poll, conducted last month by Wakefield Research, said they expected an AI-fueled marketing revolution. However, only 26 percent were very confident they understood how AI was used in marketing, and only 10 percent said they already were using it. AI "has the potential to help marketing and sales teams hyper-personalize the customer experience at an entirely new level," remarked Aman Naimat, SVP of technology at Demandbase. Its use "will allow for one-on-one conversations with marketers who have the background information necessary to successfully interact with prospects," he told CRM Buyer.

Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare

#artificialintelligence

The doctor's consultation room is one place where people really appreciate the human touch. Patients who are suffering can be comforted by the one-to-one attention of a doctor. But in recent years the demands on doctors have increased as the population gets older and budgets get tighter, and there is a growing acceptance among patients that doctors can use technology to manage the demands on their time more efficiently. Entrusting your healthcare to an intelligent machine might seem like science fiction, but for those growing up in the digital age, automated healthcare is set to become as normal as speaking to their doctor. Indeed, for millennials it might seem slightly unnerving if a consultation does not involve their doctor calling on some kind of technological support.

How Amazon Go will revolutionize retail convenience

#artificialintelligence

Amazon Go stopped the world in its tracks. The Dec. 5 introduction of Amazon's revolutionary convenience store looms among the most surprising and compelling retail announcements in recent memory: The Seattle pilot location -- which Amazon describes as "roughly 1,800 square feet of retail space that is conveniently compact, so busy customers can get in and out fast" -- advances far beyond existing self-checkout systems by eliminating the checkout process entirely. Amazon Go offers c-store staples like milk and bread, along with meals and snacks made by on-site chefs and local suppliers, as well as Amazon Meal Kits. Shoppers (a segment currently comprised exclusively of Amazon employees) scan a QR-code based mobile application upon entering the store. The e-commerce giant's Just Walk Out technology then detects when items are removed from or returned to store shelves, tracking purchases in a virtual cart, and totals the final cost when customers exit the premises.

How to start learning Artificial Intelligence? - IT Enterprise

How to start learning Artificial Intelligence?Software Development 0 comments by Thomas De Vos Artificial intelligence (AI) is a sub-division of computer science. The main goal is to enable a smart device (e.g. First mentioned back in the 50s in the paper "Computing Machinery and Intelligence", written by mathematician Alan Turing, artificial intelligence is now a very popular field, and we have advanced technology to "blame" for that. This article is about learning Artificial Intelligence and we will give you a comprehensive guide that you can use as a starting point towards learning artificial intelligence. Today's AI-based computers can beat chess champions, so it's safe to say that little by little the world is taking a turn. Some people say that artificial intelligence will save humanity; others, claim it will destroy it. The truth is, we don't really know what AI is capable of. Artificial intelligence is a fascinating area of computer science we all want to know more about. We've seen cars drive by themselves and computers understand our basic needs and wants. Robotics is yet another sub-field of computer science that depends entirely on AI. Advanced technology has gotten to a whole new level; a level that some people just can't accept. Artificial intelligence studies how people's brain think, learn, work, and make decisions.
