AI Incorporated, Canada's pioneering robotics and artificial intelligence research company, is working on a design for an autonomous refuse receptacle robot. A new application for mobile robotics, the new AI enhanced robotic system allows for a continuous cycle of mobile robotic devices to work in order to provide the end user with unending service. With this new application in mobile robotics, the company plans to use its Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technology combined with deep learning and to pioneer in a new generation of robots. The autonomous refuse receptacle robot is an application for the company's Versatile Self Localizing Autonomous Platforms (VSLAP). This new robot proprietary software called the Quantum Slam Operating System helps companies mobilize any given machine.
Microsoft Reveals New AI Platform For Next Major Windows 10 Update
Microsoft has announced that its next major update to Windows 10 will include Windows ML, the company's new AI platform. Windows ML will let developers use machine learning systems running in their apps, which could result in faster artificial intelligence. "With the next major update to Windows 10, we begin to deliver the advances that have been built into our apps and services as part of the Windows 10 platform," the company said on its blog. "Every developer that builds apps on Windows 10 will be able to use AI to deliver more powerful and engaging experiences." Microsoft says that the inclusion of Windows ML in the next Windows 10 update will offer a number of benefits to developers.

Samsung acquires another AI startup to upgrade Bixby - IoT Gadgets
Samsung Electronics has acquired a 100% stake in artificial intelligence (AI) startup Kngine, the company announced today. The San Francisco based startup specialises in an AI search engine that understands, answers questions and perform actions. This is the second AI startup acquisition by Samsung in the last four months. In late November 2017, the company had acquired Korean AI startup Fluenty, which also specialises in conversational AI. Set up in 2013 in Egypt, Kngine is an intelligent engine that can be used to automate customer service, power voice interfaces and drive enterprise search.
AI Cancer Detection Startup Nucleai Raises $5 Million
Tel Aviv-based Nucleai Ltd. announced on Monday it completed a $5 million Seed Round led by Vertex Ventures Israel and Grove Ventures Capital (GP) Ltd. Nucleai develops software that uses computer vision and machine learning algorithms to detect signs of cancer and gastrointestinal diseases. Samsung Electronics' C-Lab to Reveal New AI Projects at SXSW 2018
Samsung Electronics announced today that it will showcase three innovative new C-Lab (Creative Lab) projects based on artificial intelligence (AI) from March 11 through 14 at SXSW 2018 Trade Show. These projects – Toonsquare, Aurora, and GADGET – will introduce new user experiences with AI technologies to the attendees. The projects will be exhibited at Stand #1538 in Exhibit Hall 3 of the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Since its SXSW debut in 2015, C-Lab has introduced various projects in the field of music, art, and interactive technologies, to validating business opportunities and getting user feedback to refine the prototypes to reach market fit.
