#artificialintelligence

NVIDIA and SoftBank Group Corp. (SBG) today announced a definitive agreement under which NVIDIA will acquire Arm Limited from SBG and the SoftBank Vision Fund (together, "SoftBank") in a transaction valued at $40 billion. The transaction is expected to be immediately accretive to NVIDIA's non-GAAP gross margin and non-GAAP earnings per share. The combination brings together NVIDIA's leading AI computing platform with Arm's vast ecosystem to create the premier computing company for the age of artificial intelligence, accelerating innovation while expanding into large, high-growth markets. SoftBank will remain committed to Arm's long-term success through its ownership stake in NVIDIA, expected to be under 10 percent. "AI is the most powerful technology force of our time and has launched a new wave of computing," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.

You must specify the region where your S3 bucket is located. You can find the right region in the list of buckets on the Amazon S3 console. The user you use must have read access to the specified S3 bucket. For more information about securely granting access to S3 buckets to a specific user, see Writing IAM Policies: How to Grant Access to an Amazon S3 Bucket. You should see something similar to the following screenshot. If you prefer to have an instance of TensorBoard permanently running and accessible to your whole team, you can deploy it as an independent application in the cloud. One of the easiest ways to do this without managing servers is AWS Fargate, a serverless compute engine for containers. The following diagram illustrates this architecture.

Nvidia's Latest Chips Are a Literal Game Changer

#artificialintelligence

American chip innovation is alive and well, as Nvidia's latest lineup showed. For all those who cite Intel Corp.'s troubles as symbolic of the U.S. semiconductor industry's decline, here are two heartening words: Nvidia Corp. On Tuesday, Nvidia -- a red-hot maker of chips for video games, artificial intelligence and cloud computing -- proved again that it is way ahead of its rivals in terms of innovation and performance. The Silicon Valley-based company announced a lineup of three new gaming graphics cards based on its latest "Ampere" chip architecture, saying they will deliver up to double the performance of its prior offerings in the "greatest generational leap" in its history. Prices for the new products range from $499 to $1,499, with two due to come out later this month and the third to be released in October.

Google debuts new AI features and tools to advance MLOps - SiliconANGLE

#artificialintelligence

Google LLC announced today a raft of artificial intelligence-related updates as part of Google Cloud Next: OnAir, a nine-week series of livestream events that runs through Sept. 15. The focus of today's updates is all about machine learning and, in particular, the emerging MLOps discipline that's aimed at putting machine learning workflows into operation by fostering more collaboration and better communication between data scientists and developers. Google's AI Platform is a suite of tools that's meant to enable MLOps. It enables machine learning developers, data scientists and data engineers to take their ideas around ML and develop these into actual projects that can be deployed in production quickly and without excessive costs. The AI Platform is centered on Kubeflow, which is an open-source platform developed by Google that enables developers to build portable ML pipelines that can run on-premises or in Google's Cloud.

Are We Seeing A Deluge Of Supercomputers

#artificialintelligence

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced its supercomputer hosted in Azure Cloud which it developed in collaboration with OpenAI. The company said that the supercomputer could train various artificial intelligence models and comes with more than 2,85,000 CPU cores, 10,000 GPUs, and 400Gbps of network connectivity for each GPU server. Not just this, Hewlett Packard Enterprise recently acquired the supercomputing leader Cray, following which it has introduced the HPE Cray supercomputing line that can perform data-centric AI workloads with exceptionally high speed. It also built the new TX-GAIA (Green AI Accelerator) computing system at the Lincoln Laboratory Supercomputing Center which has been ranked as the most powerful AI supercomputer at any university in the world. With a performance of 100 AI petaflops, it can perform complex deep neural network operations with much ease.
