Mydecine Unveils Artificial Intelligence Drug Discovery Program

Flying Race Car Zips Across the Sky for the First Time
The world's first flying race car has completed its maiden flight -- bringing a futuristic new sport one step closer to fruition. The idea: The flying race car is called the Alauda Airspeeder Mk3, and technically, it's an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle. That means it lifts off and lands vertically like a helicopter, but is powered by electricity and not fossil fuels. In February, the two companies behind the Mk3 -- eVTOL manufacturer Alauda Aerodynamics and flying race car series Airspeeder -- announced plans to feature the vehicle in an upcoming international series called Airspeeder EXA. At the time of the announcement, the Mk3 was still under development, but a full-scale, race-ready version of the vehicle has now taken its maiden flight -- and a video of the voyage offers a glimpse into the future of racing.

The Israeli startup has developed the AI-based, award-winning proactive social robot ElliQ which has spent over 30,000 days in older adults' homes over the past two years. Now ElliQ will help increase patient engagement while offering primary care providers continuous actionable data and insights for early detection and intervention. The very big challenge Intuition Robotics set up to solve was to "understand how to create a relationship between a human and a machine," says co-founder and CEO Dor Skuler. WASHINGTON -- Winners of the Department of Veterans Affairs 2020-2021 Artificial Intelligence Tech Sprint are six tech companies that created programs aimed at preventing Veteran suicide and improving their health care using the latest AI technology. VA's National Artificial Intelligence Institute competition encourages innovators to develop ways to improve services for Veterans. VA also gave $5,000 awards to JumpStartCSR for an app that integrates with physical therapy to prevent and treat injuries; HIVE Lab at George Washington University for a an app that helps Veterans manage conditions such as diabetes by personalizing treatments based on gut microbiome; and Ouva, LLC for a platform that helps clinicians better monitor vital signs and other health care issues for patients in isolation. The intent of the sprint is to match the private sector with Veterans, VA clinicians and other experts who mentor the companies to brainstorm solutions and new ideas over a three-month period. VA will further evaluate the best ideas and products to potentially adopt at pilot sites and then roll out nationwide.
Marketing Artificial Intelligence Conference returns in an all-digital format
The Marketing Artificial Intelligence Conference, known as MAICON, is returning for a second year in an all-digital format. The Cleveland-based Marketing Artificial Intelligence Institute in a news release said the event will take place Sept. 13 and 14 and will feature more than 20 speakers. The inaugural MAICON conference took place in July 2019 at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland and drew more than 300 marketers, from 12 countries and 28 states. A 2020 conference that had been scheduled didn't happen due to the pandemic. MAICON 2021 "will include over a dozen main stage and breakout sessions by industry leaders, all with the singular goal of helping marketers understand, pilot and successfully scale AI," organizers said in the release.
