Fivetran Raises $565 Million, Buys CDC Vendor HVR

Fivetran took a big step into the world of enterprise data integration today when it announced an Andreessen Horowitz-led $565 million round of financing and plans to acquire change data capture (CDC) vendor HVR for $700 million. The move positions the up-and-coming ETL company to further access exabytes of data stored in on-prem databases and ERP systems on behalf of its customers. The Series C round and acquisition position Fivetran to be at the forefront of the next generation of data integration and extract, transform, and load (ETL) capabilities. The nine-year-old, Oakland, California company has made its mark by simplifying the process of setting up pipelines that extract data from source systemsโ€“primarily SaaS applications running on cloudsโ€“and load it into cloud-based data warehouses. Zendesk acquires customer service automation startup Cleverly.ai

Ai Palette raises $4.4M to help companies react faster to consumer trends โ€“ TechCrunch

Developing new packaged foods and consumer goods can take a couple years as companies research, prototype and test products. In a society that runs on social media, however, people expect to see trends land on store shelves much more quickly. Founded in 2018, Ai Palette uses machine learning to help companies spot trends in real time and get them retail-ready, often within a few months. The startup, whose clients include Danone, Kellogg's, Cargill and Dole, announced today it has raised an oversubscribed $4.4 million Series A co-led by pi Ventures and Exfinity Venture Partners. Both will join Ai Palette's board.


LTRN: 2Q:21 Results

On July 29, 2021, Lantern Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ:LTRN) announced second quarter 2021 financial and operational results, filed its form 10-Q with the SEC and hosted a conference call to review the quarter's accomplishments. Lantern generated no revenues in the second quarter and expended $2.48 million on operations during the three month period producing a net loss of ($2.32) million, or ($0.21) per share. Cash burn in the second quarter was ($1.7) million, up markedly from the ($490,000) consumed in the prior year period. Lantern reacquired global rights to its candidate LP-100 from Allarity Therapeutics, publicized in a press release on July 27, 2021. The candidate is in Phase II trials that enrolled 9 out of 27 targeted subjects.
