Job Description In this role, you'll be part of our European consulting team that is helping clients to design and deliver innovative solutions based on Cognitive Computing approaches - in particular based on IBM WATSON technology. We're looking for experienced professionals who have proven expertise in one or multiple of the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Semantic Technologies, Information Retrieval or Machine Learning. You'll provide advisory and implementation expertise to our clients including: use case and business case development for Cognitive Computing solutions; proof of concept execution to prove the value of Cognitive Computing use cases; solution outline and design of Cognitive Computing systems; as well as supporting business development activities. LTU computer scientist to present groundbreaking research
Dr. Ben Choi, associate professor of computer science at Louisiana Tech University, will present his research on a groundbreaking new technology that has the potential to revolutionize the computing industry during a keynote speech next month at the International Conference on Measurement Instrumentation and Electronics. Choi will present on a foundational architecture for designing and building computers, which will utilize multiple values rather than binary as used by current computers. The many-valued logic computers should provide faster computation by increasing the speed of processing for microprocessors and the speed of data transfer between the processors and the memory as well as increasing the capacity of the memory. This technology has the potential to redefine the computing industry, which is constantly trying to increase the speed of computation and, in recent years, has run short of options. By providing a new hardware approach, the technology will push the speed limit of computing using a progressive approach which will move from two values to four values, then to eight values, then to 16 values, and so on. Future computers could be built using this many-valued approach.

Can music be machine made? Google's Project Magenta is here to answer in the affirmative and how? In the latest edition of Moogfest in North Carolina, Google previewed its Project Magenta, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) product with tech robots to show the way to sing. As what Deep Dream does on images by imparting surreal twists, Project Magenta has music to experiment on. At the fest, a Google Brain (the machine learning wing) researcher demonstrated music generated on a digital synth.
A robot made by SoftBank will work at Pizza Hut and take customer orders
We've entered the year where robots will start taking our orders. Pepper, a humanoid robot developed by SoftBank, will begin taking orders at Pizza Hut locations in Asia by the end of 2016, according to a company statement. It will be the first time Pepper is used for commerce purposes. You'll only be able to use the robot if you have MasterCard, though. Pizza Hut goers will be able to use Pepper by simply greeting the friendly-looking humanoid robot.

The term Internet of Things was coined by the British technologist Kevin Ashton in 1999, to describe a system where the Internet is connected to the physical world via ubiquitous sensors. Languishing depths of academia(at least here in Europe …) – IoT has it's netscape moment early in 2014 when Google acquired Nest Mobile is huge and has dominated the Tech landscape for the last decade. So, 50 billion by 2020 is a massive number by a factor, and no one doubts that number any more.
