Five greatest advantages of artificial intelligence AndroidPIT
The future of car traffic is self-propelled or at least much more automated than before. Keeping an eye on the many variables and possible situations requires exactly the qualities that a well-designed AI system brings with it. In this way, traffic runs more smoothly and, above all, more safely for all concerned. This is not even about your own vehicle. In China, for example, artificial intelligence is used to dynamically and automatically control traffic light circuits so that ambulances, police or fire brigades can arrive at the scene more quickly and provide assistance.
New AI system helps drones land more quickly
Researchers have developed an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based system that can help drones to land more safely and quickly, while gobbling up less power. The system, dubbed the "Neural Lander," is a learning-based controller that tracks the position and speed of the drone, and modifies its landing trajectory and rotor speed accordingly to achieve the smoothest possible landing. "This project has the potential to help drones fly more smoothly and safely, especially in the presence of unpredictable wind gusts, and eat up less battery power as drones can land more quickly," said Soon-Jo Chung, Professor at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in the US.

IT services touted as key to future of Japan's farming sector
NIIGATA/KYOTO - Self-driving tractors, tomato-picking robots, camera-mounted drones to survey fields and spot crop damage, and satellite data from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to help farms keep track of climate and weather data. At over a dozen booths beside the G20 farm ministers' meeting venue earlier this month in the Sea of Japan city of Niigata, agricultural organizations and technology firms touted products and services they see as necessary tools to ensure a prosperous future for agriculture. "In today's Japan, the aging of farmers has become an issue, and the overall population of the country is decreasing. Collaboration between agriculture and nonagricultural sectors, such as satellite technology, IoT ("internet of things," internet connectivity into physical devices like tractors) and artificial intelligence has a key role to play in fostering agricultural innovation," said Susumu Hamamura, parliamentary vice minister at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The increased use of easily accessible data on tablet computers and smartphones to provide farmers with a wide range of agricultural data was a key message at the Niigata conference.
China's censors crank up ahead of 30th anniversary of 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre
BEIJING - It's the most sensitive day of the year for China's internet, the anniversary of the bloody June 4 crackdown on pro-democracy protests at Tiananmen Square, and with under two weeks to go, China's robot censors are working overtime. Censors at Chinese internet companies say tools to detect and block content related to the 1989 crackdown have reached unprecedented levels of accuracy, aided by machine learning and voice and image recognition. "We sometimes say that the artificial intelligence is a scalpel, and a human is a machete," said one content screening employee at Beijing Bytedance Co., who asked not to be identified because they are not authorized to speak to media. Two employees at the firm said censorship of the Tiananmen crackdown, along with other highly sensitive issues including Taiwan and Tibet, is now largely automated. Posts that allude to dates, images and names associated with the protests are automatically rejected.
Python for Everyone - Free Udemy Courses - DiscUdemy
When compared to all other programming language, python is extremely simple, easy to learn, interpret and implement. Due to this reason it became very popular and trending programming right now. The job demand for python programmers are high. Python engineers have some of the highest salaries in the industry. There are plenty of Python scientific packages for data visualization, machine learning, natural language processing, complex data analysis and more.
42 Countries Agree to International Principles for AI
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development unveiled the first intergovernmental standard for artificial intelligence policies Wednesday--and the organization's 36 member countries including America have initially signed on along with Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru and Romania. OECD, an international forum that unites stakeholders from many nations to work together to address challenges of globalization, released "Recommendations of the Council on Artificial Intelligence" to help foster a global policy ecosystem that leverages the evolving technology's benefits, while also protecting human rights and democratic values. OECD's Director of the Science, Technology and Innovation Directorate Andrew Wyckoff told reporters that the principles' creators hope they'll help shape a stable regulatory environment that promotes the tech's positive uses, while withstanding unethical abuses. "AI is what we would call a'general purpose technology.' It's going to change the way we do things in nearly every single sector of the economy--that's part of the reason we give so much importance to its development," he said.
Spain A Rising Star In The Startup Scene
As a world class tourist destination, Spain is considered to have it all; from a rich vibrant culture, world heritage sights, and a culinary scene fit for any foodie, Spain has something for everyone. On the tech front, Spain is a rising star as its startup scene is becoming the country's most flourishing sector. However, let us rewind approximately 10 years to the global financial crisis that took the world by storm. Spain was heavily hit by the 2008 global financial crisis, when the housing market crashed, leaving half-finished projects scattered from the suburbs of Madrid to the shores of the Mediterranean coastline. The sense of revival in Spain is clearer than the waters off Barcelona's coastline.
Experts say more work needed on AI - Chinadaily.com.cn
China has published the most research papers on artificial intelligence around the world, while AI research from the United States remains the most influential, said a report on AI development released in Shanghai on Friday. More than 300,000 papers on AI have been published globally from 2013 to 2018, among which around 74,000 were published by Chinese researchers and 52,000 by their US counterparts, and the US dominated in fields such as citation impact, number of patents, and the scale of companies and funds, the report said, adding that China lacks basic theoretical research. The report was compiled by the Research Center for AI Development, which was established last year by the Ministry of Science and Technology. "China and the United States are the two main pillars of the world's AI research network, and the most cooperation on AI research happened between the two nations-the link between them is the strongest," said Li Xiuquan, deputy director of the center. "But more and more countries have realized the importance of AI, and paid a lot of attention to this area."
Role of machine learning and AI in changing the payments landscape
"We are surrounded by computers that can see, hear and learn. With Machine Learning as the medium, systems are analyzing vast amounts of data over time to carry out tasks independently; leading to better insights. Machine Learning solutions simply learn from experience without being programmed and this Artificial Intelligence has come a long way in the past decade and is now an integral part of our day to day lives. AI and machine learning are now in the thick of technology debate and thanks to advances in big data, cloud computing, and faster processing speeds it has become a mainstream solution in most sectors. The world is going digital and institutions can now access vast amounts of data; in fact more data has been created in the last couple of years than in the entire previous history of the human race.
