Sweden-based telecom device manufacturer Ericsson has bought the workforce Niche AI for its Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence centre.

Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal'Nishank' instructed officials of his ministry to develop the syllabus on artificial intelligence introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for Class 9 students according to the needs of the industrial sector. The CBSE introduced artificial intelligence as an optional subject for Class 9 from this academic session. IIT Kharagpur too began a six-month course on it recently, the minister said. "The courses of Artificial Intelligence, from school education to higher education level should be designed according to the needs of the industrial sector. There is no dearth of talent among our students. Surely the best results will come out," Nishank said at the launch of two initiatives under the Department of Higher Education at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra here.

The SMarTR Engine tackles disease heterogeneity and leverages gene expression profiles to predict responder patient populations, as well as compounds that might be effective against those patient populations. Auransa designed AU-409 to combine three essential features: DNA binding activity, antitumor activity in vitro and in vivo, and good oral bioavailability.

BENGALURU: India has initiated a project to digitally map the country with a resolution of 10 centimetres, using drones and technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and big data, a senior government official said on Monday. The herculean task was taken up by the Survey of India, part of the Department of Science and Technology, a few months ago and is planned to be completed in two years, the department's secretary, Prof Ashutosh Sharma said. "...now we are equipping them (Survey of India) with the latest technologies like drones, Artificial Intelligence, big data analytics, image processing and continuously operated reference system", he told reporters on the sidelines of an event here. Once the project is completed, the data will be available to citizens and to Gram Panchayats and local bodies, empowering them to use it in decision making and planning process. The survey is currently in progress in Karnataka, Haryana, Maharashtra and the Ganga basin.
