There is already a cornucopia of articles listing reliable machine learning tools with in-depth descriptions of their functionality. Our goal, however, was to get the feedback of industry experts. And that's why we interviewed data science practitioners -- gurus, really --regarding the useful tools they choose for their projects. The specialists we contacted have various fields of expertise and are working in such companies as Facebook and Samsung. Some of them represent AI startups (Objection Co, NEAR.AI, and Respeecher); some teach at universities (Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics). Autonomous driving fuels massive data growth of IoT - IoT Agenda
During a recent meeting with one of the world's largest automobile manufacturers headquartered in Japan, we discussed the company's Autonomous Vehicle program. While this might immediately draw thinking to driverless cars, this program is much more pragmatic in terms of the immediate impact that can be had. The focus is on safety features within each of the manufacturer's vehicles, including basic actions such as turning left with oncoming traffic, changing lanes, turning right on red, slowing down or speeding up, rapid braking and more. The company's publicly available Internet-connected cars already have more than 500 sensors capturing speed, location, brake pressure, steering angle, fuel level, tire pressures and temperature, which generates seven billion points of data per day. But the Autonomous Driving System test vehicles carry even more sensors such as cameras and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR).

Semiconductor Industry to Rebound in 2020 with 4% Growth
Speaking at his mid-term semiconductor industry forecast seminar in London this week, Malcolm Penn, chairman and CEO of industry analyst Future Horizons, assured attendees that industry fundamentals were sound, and after a fall of around 15% in 2019, the industry will rebound with around 4% revenue growth to $414 billion in 2020. He said, "The fundamentals are sound. In terms of IC unit growth, fab capacity and average selling price, they are all in in good shape. It's the timing of the upswing in the economy that puts it into doubt." He added, "Rebound is a certainty, but its timing is not."

Amazon's Alexa voice assistant will start taking donations to 2020 presidential candidates
Amazon recently announced that its voice assistant Alexa can now sign business agreements with health providers under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA. "Alexa, I want to make a political contribution." Starting in October, users of Amazon's voice-controlled home assistant, Alexa, will be able to verbally make a political contribution between $5 and $200 to a participating 2020 presidential candidate, the company announced Wednesday. In order to use the new Alexa Political Contributions feature, users must have voice purchasing enabled in their Alexa settings, as well as valid default payment method in their Amazon accounts. "Alexa, donate [amount] to [candidate name]" is another phrase users can say to support a preferred political hopeful.
