#artificialintelligence

A.A.A. is a scholar of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This work used the XStream computational resource, which is supported by the National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentation program (ACI-1429830). This work used the shared FACS facility, which is supported by NIH S10 Shared Instrument Grant (S10RR027431-01). We thank the NIH Tetramer Facility for providing recombinant HLA-DR monomers for the peptide binding experiment. We thank M. Nielsen for providing insights regarding implementation of the NetMHCIIpan algorithm.

UCSF Launches Center for Intelligent Imaging to Accelerate AI Adoption in Radiology -

#artificialintelligence

UC San Francisco (UCSF) announced the launch of the Center for Intelligence or ci2 that focuses on accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to radiology, leveraging advanced computational techniques and industry collaborations to improve patient diagnoses and care. As part of the center, Investigators in ci2 will collaborate with NVIDIA Corp to build infrastructure and tools focused on enabling the translation of AI into clinical practice. The Center is comprised of clinical radiologists, imaging scientists, engineers, machine learning scientists, data engineers, clinicians, post-doctoral fellows, and students collaborating to develop and deploy artificial intelligence that will solve critical clinical problems by advancing the way in which healthcare professionals are able to utilize and deliver imaging. Tools under development include organ and tissue segmentation, automated volumetry and morphological quantification, and disease visualization. NVIDIA engineers and data scientists will work alongside UCSF investigators to develop clinical AI tools, applying powerful computational resources that are available in a few medical institutions, with the goal of accelerating the AI development cycle and integrating it seamlessly in the clinic.

BrainCheck: Helping Physicians Care for Dementia Patients

#artificialintelligence

Used in over 200 clinical practices around the world, BrainCheck is helping doctors, caregivers and dementia patients work together to lessen the toll of the degenerative disease. Founded in 2015, the enterprise tech company uses interactive cognitive assessment and care management technology to make caring for dementia patients easier for all involved. "To date, more than 100,000 individuals are using BrainCheck to monitor their cognitive health, and this is only the beginning," David Eagleman, co-founder and chief science officer of BrainCheck, said in a statement. "We're providing a platform for patients, caregivers, and physicians to work together to manage one of the biggest public health crises of our time." BrainCheck uses tests administered from an iPhone, iPad or desktop computer to interpret a patient's current level of cognitive functioning to develop a customised treatment plan.

Drugmaker to Test Machine Learning to Prevent Drug Shortages

#artificialintelligence

To sharpen its predictions, the company's health-care division plans to start testing a cloud-based software platform later this year. The platform, made by North Reading, Mass.-based TraceLink Inc., can analyze in real time data points from various organizations within Merck's supply chain, including pharmacies, hospitals and wholesale distributors. TraceLink is now developing machine-learning algorithms that will be used in the pilot, which will begin with immuno-oncology drugs, designed to boost the body's immune system to fight cancer. "We want to start it in an area where the product is a lifesaving product," said Alessandro DeLuca, chief information officer for Merck's health-care division. "The value is going to be that every single patient will receive the drug that he or she needs at the right moment," Mr. DeLuca said, adding that the move could significantly cut drug shortages.

Industry Leaders: 15 Top Women Entrepreneurs in AI

#artificialintelligence

It is no new knowledge that start-ups in Artificial Intelligence are male bastions. At a time when gender equality is increasingly becoming the buzzword, gradually more women are creatively leveraging AI and Machine Learning in their businesses. Here are some promising women entrepreneurs and leaders who either offer AI-powered solutions or deploy machine learning in their firms in an innovative fashion. The company manufactures chips for Artificial Intelligence Solutions and is worth over $700. It recently drew crucial funds from Chinese and South Korean firms.

ML Data Scientist ยฃ650/day United Kingdom

#artificialintelligence

I am working for a Global Client (leader in their industry) after an experienced Machine Learning (ML) consultant to join on an initial short-term contract. My client is looking to automate the development of interfaces, the automation has two components, the first part refers to the recommendation of mapping rules based on existing integration scenarios, the second part is about the use of Robotic Process Automation to translate the suggested rules into actual development artefacts in TIBCO (global ESB solution). The scope of this service is related to the first part of the solution. IMPORTANT: Travel expenses would need to be included in the daily rate, they will not be reimbursed separately. Machine Learning Vital Signs: Metrics and Monitoring Models in Production

Recorded at Rev 2 May 23-24, 2019 New York Day 2 - Case Studies - Climate Corporation, AWS The Climate Corporation provides a platform for farmers around the world to use best-in-class analytic capabilities to digitize their operations and optimize their profits. Come learn about Climate's journey from a scrappy startup to a mature company and hear how we grew our data science capabilities 10x, from supporting 20 data scientists to supporting 200 data scientists, over 2 years. As a new startup, data scientists were working on customized servers with a complex set of unstandardized libraries. Time and effort were lost to maintenance and overhead, with researchers spending 50% of their time maintaining and customizing research environments. Additionally, sharing work between groups was a significant challenge and versioning of models/data was done manually, with a high risk for error.

Massive, AI-Powered Robots Are 3D-Printing Entire Rockets

#artificialintelligence

For a factory where robots toil around the clock to build a rocket with almost no human labor, the sound of grunts echoing across the parking lot make for a jarring contrast. "That's Keanu Reeves' stunt gym," says Tim Ellis, the chief executive and cofounder of Relativity Space, a startup that wants to combine 3D printing and artificial intelligence to do for the rocket what Henry Ford did for the automobile. As we walk among the robots occupying Relativity's factory, he points out the just-completed upper stage of the company's rocket, which will soon be shipped to Mississippi for its first tests. Across the way, he says, gesturing to the outside world, is a recording studio run by Snoop Dogg. Neither of those A-listers have paid a visit to Relativity's rocket factory, but the presence of these unlikely neighbors seems to underscore the company's main talking point: It can make rockets anywhere. In an ideal cosmos, though, its neighbors will be even more alien than Snoop Dogg.
