The trial is part of a government project to develop a transport system that allows manned and unmanned aircraft to operate safely in the same airspace. Health tech startups use AI, ML to combat coronavirus

Mumbai-based Qure.ai uses an artificial intelligence-powered solution to identify 24 different abnormalities in a chest X-ray, including ones indicative of a covid-19 infection. Built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and trained using machine learning to detect pulmonary problems, including diseases like tuberculosis, the original solution has been repurposed by Qure for the ongoing pandemic. Given the global shortage of test kits, Qure's machine learning solution qXR can very quickly prioritize those who need to be tested immediately and those who need to be self-isolated, thus helping to maximise resource utilization. Since the launch of the covid-19 version in March, qXR has been deployed in over 40 sites globally, including Mumbai. The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has deployed this cost-effective and scalable solution to assist the front line critical healthcare professionals.

By using complex algorithms to detect patterns in large datasets--like lab test results, current medications, and symptoms, to name a few--AI might actually make medicine more personable--not less. 'Tay', a conversational twitter bot was designed to have'playful' conversations with users. It was supposed to learn from the conversations. It took literally 24 hours for twitter users to corrupt it.


Kakao to introduce new AI speaker

Kakao, the operator of South Korea's top mobile messenger, is expected to roll out a new artificial intelligence-based speaker brand in the second half of this year, according to industry sources Monday. The company's AI subsidiary Kakao Enterprise has trademarked a new product called Mini Hexa. However, further details have not yet been revealed. It is reportedly reviewing details, including when it would officially showcase the voice-enabled speaker. The new model is likely to use AI engines developed by Kakao Enterprise, a spin-off of Kakao's former AI unit.
