Beshear reported Monday that there were at least 10,046 COVID-19 cases in Kentucky. There were 131 new positive cases on Sunday and 214 new cases on Monday, Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack said. No deaths were reported Sunday, but there were eight deaths Monday. The total number of deaths in the state from the coronavirus is 439.
The cloud computing race in 2020 will have a definite multi-cloud spin. Here's a look at how the cloud leaders stack up, the hybrid market, and the SaaS players that run your company as well as their latest strategic moves. Blue Prism, a key robotics process automation player, will provide a bring your own license offering on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The company was already in Oracle's partner network, but the addition to the Oracle Cloud Marketplace will make it easier to deploy Blue Prism and integrate it with Oracle software. According to Blue Prism, the bring your own license listing will be pre-installed on any image for deployment on Oracle's cloud.
The insurance industry is way past its time when timely response and a balanced price-quality relationship were enough to define customer experience. The advent of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Advanced Analytics have disrupted the insurance industry and have reshaped the way it operates. Insurtech firms these days are using their AI and ML capabilities to drive high-quality customer experiences, increased loyalty, generate new revenue while simultaneously reducing the costs. The vision of the insurance firms today and for the future is where customers and customer experience comes first. The combination of AI and ML models built on top of the Customer Data Platform leads to improved customer experience through hyper-personalization.
Sony has announced two new image sensors -- the IMX500 and IMX501 -- that stack a traditional sensor on top of an AI-powered chip designed to process video and images. On paper, the idea isn't all that new, and companies like Apple and Google have been doing it with their smartphones for years. From dimly lit restaurants to moonlit beaches, the new Night mode uses intelligent software and A13 Bionic to deliver low‑light shots never before possible on iPhone. And it all happens automatically. You can also experiment with manual controls to dial in even more detail and less noise.
This video will help you understand Stochastic Gradient Descent in Deep Neural Network in a very simplified manner. Deep learning is part of a broader family of machine learning methods based on artificial neural networks with representation learning. Learning can be supervised, semi-supervised or unsupervised. Relying on its self-developed full-stack end-to-end AI technology, Xmov has opened the process of intelligent characterization from intelligent modeling to AI performance animation technology which drives facial expressions, eyes, body and finger movements, and generating short videos or real-time broadcasts to realize interaction and commercialization of virtual intelligent property (IP). Ling's team will generate content around such characteristics as the national essence of Peking Opera and the combination of classic and modern fashion on social platforms like Weibo, Instagram, and TikTok, Xmov said in a statement. With commercial programming, the 3D virtual figure will engage in business endorsements, live broadcasts, and participate in online and offline activities. CEO and Xmov founder Chai Jinxiang said virtual IP value will be released at the maximum level via livestreaming and short videos. The emerging virtual idol sector, backed by China's younger generation, has been on the fast development track in recent years, with more domestic internet firms increasing investment in this nascent sector.
Omri Geller, Run:AI co-founder and CEO told ZDNet that Nvidia's announcement about "fractionalizing" GPU, or running separate jobs within a single GPU, is revolutionary for GPU hardware. Geller said it has seen many customers with this need, especially for inference workloads: Why utilize a full GPU for a job that does not require the full compute and memory of a GPU? "We believe, however, that this is more easily managed in the software stack than at the hardware level, and the reason is flexibility. While hardware slicing creates'smaller GPUs' with a static amount of memory and compute cores, software solutions allow for the division of GPUs into any number of smaller GPUs, each with a chosen memory footprint and compute power. In addition, fractionalizing with a software solution is possible with any GPU or AI accelerator, not just Ampere servers - thus improving TCO for all of a company's compute resources, not just the latest ones. This is, in fact, what Run:AI's fractional GPU feature enables." InAccel is a Greek startup, built around the premise of providing an FPGA manager that allows the distributed acceleration of large data sets across clusters of FPGA resources using simple programming models.

There hasn't been a whole lot of news lately about Microsoft's private/hybrid-computing platform, the product formerly known as Azure Stack and, more recently, as Azure Stack Hub. But, at Build 2020 this week, Microsoft officials are talking up some of the new features coming soon to Azure Stack Hub in preview form. Microsoft is making available in private preview Azure Stack Hub Fleet Management.
This post is part of "AI education", a series of posts that review and explore educational content on data science and machine learning. When it comes to software development education, I'm a classical type: I prefer books over video tutorials, and I like to manually write every single line of code instead of copy-pasting from sample files and Stack Exchange. My early experience with online artificial intelligence and machine learning courses had mostly left me disappointed. So, when Udemy gave me access to their online course "Machine Learning A-Z: Hands-On Python & R In Data Science," I was a bit skeptical. But after going through the course, I must say that the instructors, Kirill Eremenko and Hadelin de Ponteves, have done a great job to make machine learning, a fairly complicated topic, accessible to a wide audience.
This is Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Data Science Prerequisites: The Numpy Stack in Python (V2). The reason I made this course is because there is a huge gap for many students between machine learning "theory" and writing actual code. As I've always said: "If you can't implement it, then you don't understand it". Without basic knowledge of data manipulation, vectors, and matrices, students are not able to put their great ideas into working form, on a computer. This course closes that gap by teaching you all the basic operations you need for implementing machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
