Caitlin Clark appeared headed for a one-game suspension after picking up what was initially ruled her eighth technical foul of the season Saturday -- but the WNBA quickly stepped in. The league rescinded the technical foul assessed to the Indiana Fever star during the team's win over the Chicago Sky, wiping away the penalty that would have automatically sidelined Clark for one game. Had the technical stood, Clark would have been forced to sit out Tuesday's matchup against the New York Liberty, dealing a significant blow to Indiana as the Fever continue their push through the season. US fast-food chain Taco Bell is removing lettuce from its menu in some states after investigations found it could be linked to an outbreak of explosive diarrhoea caused by a parasite. The decision was taken out of an abundance of caution following discussions with health officials, Taco Bell told the BBC. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says 1,644 people in five states that reported exposure to Taco Bell have been infected by cyclosporiasis, a parasitic infection that spreads through contaminated food or water. Do not eat food items with shredded iceberg lettuce from Mexico served at Taco Bell locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia, the FDA said. No deaths have been reported but 94 people have been hospitalised due to cyclosporiasis infections, which were first detected on 13 May, the FDA added.

It's complicated--and it might not matter that much. There are two competing schools of thought over just how water-intensive AI is. In one, the technology is horribly thirsty. Data centers will exacerbate droughts throughout the country and "drain the great lakes," as one popular Reddit thread puts it. The former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken up the issue, sarcastically posting at one point: "How dare the peasants complain about data centers stealing their water and driving the cost of electricity!!" The other school, populated by Silicon Valley types, holds that "The Data Center Water Crisis Isn't Real," as an article in the right-wing publication Pirate Wires argued in December.
