Everyone seems to have a view including the venerable Nature journal (Programming – Pick up Python). On first impressions, this Polyglot approach (ability to master multiple languages) sounds complex. Why teach 3 languages together? He added that prototype testing of the technologies will be continued by the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations that is the main project's contractor. Just a few weeks ago, we published a report about how Tesla's new radar technology for the Autopilot is already proving useful in some potentially dangerous situations. We now have a new piece of evidence that is so spectacularly clear that it's worth updating that report. The video of an accident on the Autobahn in the Netherlands caught on the dashcam of a Tesla Model S shows the Autopilot's forward collision warning predicting an accident before it could be detected by the driver. With the release of Tesla's version 8.0 software update in September, the automaker announced a new radar processing technology that was directly pushed over-the-air to all its vehicles equipped with the first generation Autopilot hardware. One of the main features enabled by the new radar processing capacity is the ability for the system to see ahead of the car in front of you and basically track two cars ahead on the road.

Authorities in Bentonville, Arkansas, issued a warrant for an Amazon Echo device powered by Alexa to see if the gadget has any information linked to a 2015 murder case, according to The Information. The device belongs to James Andrew Bates, who is on trial for killing his friend Victor Collins. Police want to know if the Echo heard anything that has to do with the murder of Collins, who was found dead in Bates' hot tub. Bentonville issued a warrant for Amazon to release any audio or records from an Echo belonging to Bates. The company reportedly declined to give authorities data that the Echo device logged on its servers.

Facebook is warning people about a fake explosion in Bangkok, falsely suggesting that the entire city is at risk. The site has activated its "Safety Check" feature across Thailand's capital. That means that anyone it thinks is in the area will see a message informing them that there has been "an explosion", and encouraging them to mark themselves safe from it. But no such explosion actually happened and the fake alert seems to be the result of changes that the company has made to its Safety Check feature. It appears to have been activated by a minor incident, reported only in the local news, where a man took firecrackers to a government building in an apparent protest.
