Paytm Looks To Support Developers, Startups With AI Cloud
As the digital payments giant Paytm continues to support data localisation, the company has launched its AI Cloud computing platform "Paytm AI Cloud for India" for developers, startups and enterprises with servers located only in India. The company has partnered with Alibaba for Cloud Computing Infrastructure and plans to soon offer an enterprise-messaging solution in partnership with DingTalk. The company claims that AI Cloud computing platform offers a suite of business-centric apps for organisations that need high-quality solutions for cloud computing, ready-to-use services to automate their workflow, easy to integrate payments, messaging and customer engagement without the hassle of managing hardware and software. With this, the company aims to enable the future-of-work with Cloud Computing, AI and mobility-driven-innovation. According to Sujit Kumar Mishra, Vice President – Paytm, every new-age organisation needs to be AI-enabled.

Experts found the religion or God a person believes in is irrelevant, believers are still more likely to think the moon landing was a hoax or JFK was killed by the CIA. Scientists claim the'previously unidentified' link between the two is down to a brain bias that connects unrelated events. Teleological thinkers are willing to accept statements such as'the sun rises in order to give us light' and'the purpose of bees is to ensure pollination' as true. They hope that drawing the link between the two errors in rational thinking can highlight the'major flaws of conspiracy theories'.

Reddit down: Website hit by major outage just hours after site went completely offline
Reddit has stopped working completely. Visitors to the site see a message reading "our CDN was unable to reach our servers," accompanied by a picture of a sad alien. The outage comes just hours after a huge issue that took the site down completely and forced Reddit to promise to fix the problem publicly. Facebook is trying to use AI to make MRI scans ten times faster
Facebook wants to revolutionise MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans. The social networking giant announced on Monday a new research project that aims to use artificial intelligence (AI) to make MRI scans up to ten times faster, and has been granted access to a trove of around 3 million anonymised MRI images from 10,000 clinical cases. In an announcement blog post, Facebook said the data it has accessed has had patient names removed, as well as "all other protected health information," and the project is compliant with HIPAA privacy regulations. The project is a collaboration between Facebook's FAIR AI research lab and NYU School of Medicine's Department of Radiology. The efforts are a major foray by Facebook into into the medical space, as it attempts to apply its experimental AI research efforts to real-world problems.
Google install AI-powered cooling system for data centre - Information Age
Although human intervention will occur when needed, the DeepMind system will take screenshots every five minutes to analyse where and when energy consumption levels can be reduced. DeepMind said in a recent blog post: "Even minor improvements would provide significant energy savings and reduce CO2 emissions to help combat climate change." Any necessary changes are checked for predicted energy efficiency and temperature levels, as well as any possuble safety repercussions, before being implemented. Google have reported energy savings of approximately 30% as a result of the use of DeepMind's cooling system. The fund embeds machine learning techniques within the investment process and will use a variety of quantitative techniques to time its investments. The investments will be based on'factor premia' - those sources of risk such as value, quality, momentum, small size and low volatility that can provide investors with persistent risk-adjusted excess returns. The Aberdeen Global Artificial Intelligence Global Equity SICAV, launched in Luxembourg, is a collaboration between Aberdeen Standard Investments' Quantitative Investment Strategies team and Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Investment Technology Institute (MTEC)/Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation in Tokyo, Japan – a centre of excellence in robotics, artificial intelligence and financial technology. Martin Gilbert, Co-CEO at Standard Life Aberdeen, said: "For active investment management firms, the ability to use machines to read and understand vast amounts of data in order to forecast market moves more accurately has spawned innovation and a resurgence in active quantitative investment approaches. "To benefit from this AI-driven innovation, and to complement our highly successful active fundamental strategies, we are proud to have collaborated with the MTEC – Japan's leading and most prestigious financial technology think-tank – and the Trust Bank to develop this active quant fund."
