Image caption, Zelensky's plane after it landed in Norway after flying in from Moldova A plane carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was delayed by a Russian drone as he prepared to fly to attend a state funeral in Oslo, Moldovan and Norwegian authorities say. Zelensky and his wife Olena were on the jet at Chisinau, Moldova's capital, ahead of Wednesday's funeral of Norway's King Harald V when the unmanned aircraft crossed over the Moldovan border. The drone prompted an immediate airspace shutdown and Zelensky's plane was left on the runway for around an hour before it could take off. The flight was only authorised after it was confirmed the drone had come down 160km (100 miles) away. Asked by reporters on Thursday, the Kremlin said there had been no threat to the jet. Zelensky's plane had been due to take off at around 16:30 (14:30 GMT) from Chisinau International Airport.

'Everywoman' statue unveiled in Trafalgar Square A sculpture inspired by a desire to bring a contemporary everywoman to Trafalgar Square has been unveiled on London's Fourth Plinth. Lady In Blue by New York artist Tschabalala Self, which pays homage to a young, metropolitan woman, is the 16th artwork to feature on the plinth since 1998. The bronze and blue figure replaces Mil Veces un Instante (A Thousand Times in an Instant) by Teresa Margolles. The statue has been patinated with a pigment refined from Lapis Lazuli, a semi-precious stone that has been used by artists for millennia. Self said she had set out to put an ordinary contemporary Londoner on a site more usually associated with statues of monarchs and military commanders.

Is the war entering a new phase? Ukraine launched its deepest-ever attack into Russia, targeting two Arctic gas condensate facilities more than 3,000km (1,865 miles) from its border, on Wednesday, signalling that Ukraine has further developed its military capabilities as the Russia-Ukraine war continues through its fifth year. Unconfirmed videos circulating on social media show large clouds of thick, dark smoke and fire at the Novy Urengoy plant in western Siberia, recorded from a distance. Dmitry Artyukhov, the governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug region, wrote on Telegram that the drone attacks had been intercepted and "debris from the drone caused a fire upon impact". There have been no reports of deaths or injuries.

When iOS 27 arrives, it will bring with it a fully revamped assistant for your iPhone. Siri made its debut on the iPhone in 2011, five years ahead of Google Assistant and 11 years before ChatGPT would open up to the public. Despite the head start, Apple's voice AI has been comprehensively overtaken in recent years, and made to look rather primitive compared to the many generative AI rivals it's now up against. With the launch of iOS 27, Apple and Siri are fighting back. There's a new name-- Siri AI --and a host of new capabilities that are coming to your iPhone.

A Teen Girl's Death Is Prompting Calls to Ban Choking in Porn Despite the many health risks, sexual strangulation has become popular among young people--with some experts blaming adult content for normalizing it. An Australian teenage girl's death, suspected to be preceded by consensual "choking" during sex, has renewed calls to ban showing the act in porn . This latest tragedy, reportedly believed to involve sexual strangulation, comes just months after the UK banned porn showing the practice. But despite all the noise, most people still aren't aware of just how dangerous the trend is. Sexual strangulation or "choking" during sex, as it's referred to colloquially, has become wildly popular--especially among adults aged 18 to 35, despite the risk of severe injury, brain damage, and even death.
