Ukrainian drone attacks hit multiple Russian targets, including refinery
Ukrainian drones have struck energy and industrial targets across several Russian regions, Russian authorities say, in an escalating campaign of strikes against infrastructure. In Saratov, a region on the Volga River with several oil refineries that has come under regular Ukrainian attack in recent years, Governor Roman Busargin said on Sunday on Telegram that "civil infrastructure" had been damaged in the overnight strikes. In the Kirov region, northeast of Moscow and about 1,300km (800 miles) from Ukraine, Governor Alexander Sokolov said drones had hit a facility in the Urzhumsky district. The Ukrainian army confirmed the attack, saying it had also hit the Lazarevo oil-pumping station in the region. Governors in the Rostov, Voronezh and Belgorod regions, all of which border Ukraine, also reported strikes, and three civilians were injured in Belgorod.
Zelenskyy says Russia fired over 200 drones at Ukraine as truce expires
What are Russia's gains from the Iran war? 'We are not losers; we are winners' Russia and Ukraine have resumed air attacks after a United States-brokered three-day truce expired, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying more than 200 drones were used to attack Ukraine overnight. Russian aerial attacks across Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region on Tuesday morning killed at least one person and injured four others, according to regional administration chief Oleksandr Ganzha. Russia also carried out attacks on the regions of Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Chernihiv, according to authorities. More than 200 long-range drones were used in the wave of attacks, Zelenskyy said. "Russia itself chose to end the partial silence that had lasted for several days," he said in a post on X. Russia's military, meanwhile, said its defences downed 27 Ukrainian drones over the regions of Belgorod, Voronezh and Rostov.
Russia attacks Odesa, claims Ukraine hit Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant
What are Russia's gains from the Iran war? 'We are not losers; we are winners' Ukrainian officials say Russian drones have again attacked the southern port city of Odesa, injuring at least 11 people, including two children, and damaging homes and important infrastructure. Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper said the attack affected three districts, hitting residential buildings, vehicles and civilian facilities, including a hotel, warehouses and funicular railway. Windows shattered in many buildings and the port area sustained damage. Law enforcement agencies are documenting the latest war crimes committed by Russia against the peaceful population of [the] Odesa region," Kiper said. Russian attacks killed one person in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, according to Governor Ivan Fedorov. "A 59-year-old man died as a result of an enemy attack on the Zaporizhzhia region," Fedorov wrote on Telegram. A Ukrainian drone attack killed an employee at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which was captured by Russian forces and is shut down. "A driver was killed today when a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone struck the transport department at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant," said a statement from plant managers who were installed by Russia. Regional governor Fedorov said Russian forces launched 629 strikes across 45 settlements in the region in a single day, with at least 50 reports of damage to homes and infrastructure. Russian officials reported Ukrainian drone attacks in the Belgorod border region, where at least one person was killed and four women injured, alongside damage to buildings and vehicles. The attacks come as diplomatic efforts to end the war remain stalled. Donald Trump said on Sunday that he has had "good conversations" with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "We're working on the Russia situation, Russia and Ukraine, and hopefully we're going to get it," Trump said on Fox News. "I do have conversations with him, and I do have conversations with President Zelenskyy, and good conversations," he said. "The hatred between President Putin and President Zelenskyy is ridiculous.

Russia hits Ukraine with rarely-used Oreshnik missile in fresh strikes
Russia has used the Oreshnik ballistic missile as part of a massive overnight strike on Ukraine. While the ministry did not specify what had been the Oreshnik's target, shortly before midnight (22:00 GMT) videos began circulating on social media showing numerous explosions on the outskirts of the western city of Lviv.
