If you didn't think game day could get any better, get ready for robots. Two tech giants in the field of cognitive technology have recently announced plans to bring artificial intelligence to major international sports events. International Business Machines Corp. will partner with the Wimbledon tennis tournament, which starts July 3, while Intel Corp. will introduce a host of new technologies at the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea. IBM will exercise a range of its AI abilities throughout the London-based tennis tournament. The company's signature AI platform, Watson, will help visitors track the most nail-biting matches and automatically tape video highlights of the event, IBM said in a statement.

One thing that makes ISIS so hard to fight is that the terrorist network is diffuse and scattered, with small cells of operatives all over the world. Not only does this make it hard for law enforcement to predict where the group might strike next; it makes it incredibly complicated to track activity on the network--activity like banking transactions. Small sums of money flow from foreign fighter to foreign fighter, yet banks struggle to identify it within their systems. Banks have long used anti-money laundering systems to flag suspicious activity, and in the aftermath of September 11th, they have turned to those same legacy tools to catch terror-related transactions, too. But these legacy tools are not up to the job.

Machine learning- to put it mildly- is an incredibly broad and varied field, with multitudes of applications. Thus, writing a list entitled "10 Machine Learning Experts You Need to Know" proves challenging for a number of reasons. Firstly, I've restricted my ten picks to those currently working in the field- if I extended it to those living and passed, I never would have been able to identify only ten worthy of mention. Secondly, this list is in no way ranked- how would I decide which is more remarkable? Third, this is by no means an exhaustive list of people currently making significant contributions to the field of machine learning, or the wider world.

Around midnight one Saturday in January, Sarah Jeong was on her couch, browsing Twitter, when she spontane ously wrote what she now bitterly refers to as "the tweet that launched a thousand ships." The 28-year-old journalist and author of The Internet of Garbage, a book on spam and online harassment, had been watching Bernie Sanders boosters attacking feminists and supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement. In what was meant to be a hyper bolic joke, she tweeted out a list of political carica tures, one of which called the typical Sanders fan a "vitriolic crypto racist who spends 20 hours a day on the Internet yelling at women." The ill-advised late-night tweet was, Jeong admits, provocative and absurd--she even supported Sanders. But what happened next was the kind of backlash that's all too familiar to women, minorities, and anyone who has a strong opinion online. By the time Jeong went to sleep, a swarm of Sanders supporters were calling her a neoliberal shill. By sunrise, a broader, darker wave of abuse had begun. She received nude photos and links to disturbing videos. One troll promised to "rip each one of [her] hairs out" and "twist her tits clear off." The attacks continued for weeks. "I was in crisis mode," she recalls. So she did what many victims of mass harassment do: She gave up and let her abusers have the last word.

Years from now, the drama that has gripped local sports fans as the Celtics wooed big-name free agents to come play in the Hub may involve the e-sports stars of the future and a Boston-based team jockeying to sign them to their squad. A new Boston team of top-tier gamers owned by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft will soon be competing in a new Overwatch league, according to ESPN. Overwatch, a popular shooting and fighting game made by Blizzard Entertainment, will launch a competitive league later this year, according to the network. Along with Kraft, other teams based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Shanghai, and Seoul, South Korea, have committed to the league. Sterling Equities, which owns the New York Mets, will field a squad.

From December, 2002 to July, 2007, Dr. Park had been a research scientist of R&D Institute, Hanwha S&C Co., Ltd., Korea. From September, 2007 to August, 2009, He had been a professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Kyungnam University, Korea. He is now a professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech), Korea. Dr. Park has published about 100 research papers in international journals and conferences.

If you fly your drone as a hobby and paid a fee to register it with the Federal Aviation Administration, you can now get a refund. In 2015, the FAA placed a rule that required owners who operated their drones for fun to register their small aircraft. In May, a U.S. Appeals Court in the D.C. circuit said the FAA drone registration violated a 2012 law passed by Congress. Section 336 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act says the administration "may not promulgate any rule or regulation regarding a model aircraft." Because the ruling in May, the FAA announced this week it will refund the $5 people paid to register their drones.

The CEO of a Chinese driverless car company is being investigated after live streaming himself riding in one of his cars despite police banning the vehicles from operating. Robin Li live-streamed himself in the vehicle and even told the audience that he was driving on the fifth ring road in Beijing, reports the People's Daily Online. Traffic authorities in the capital have confirmed they are aware of the case and are investigating further. The CEO told the conference as he sat in the car that he was on his way to the conference and could ride safely and comfortably in the driverless vehicle.
