Dubai: Artificial intelligence (AI) will evolve into hybrid intelligence, combining the powers of the human mind and intelligent machines, according to a presentation at the Museum of the Future at the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai. The museum at WGS, which ends on Tuesday, has installations that provide a sense of how AI will evolve by the year 2035. The walk-through of the show, called'Hi. I am AI', ends with a large screen made of small cubes. The cubes protrude outwards in the shape of a human face -- a woman -- who describes how AI will eventually develop into "hybrid super intelligence".

CNBC reports that speaking on a panel organized by CNBC at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Ian Pearson of Futurizon commented on the issues that may arise around artificial intelligence. "The fact is that AI can go further than humans, it could be billions of times smarter than humans at this point," said Pearson. "So we really do need to make sure that we have some means of keeping up." Pearson continued, "The way to protect against that is to link that AI to your brain so you have the same IQ… as the computer. I don't actually think it's safe, just like Elon Musk… to develop these superhuman computers until we have a direct link to the human brain… and then don't get way ahead."

Finance BroadLink has raised $54.4 million in Series D funding from Citic Private Equity Funds Management. Baidu and Libai Group participated in the new round. The ancient rock, named "Sayh al Uhaymir 008," or "SaU008," was once part of one of a meteorite that landed on Earth after blowing off from Mars millions of years ago. SaU008 was discovered in Oman in 1999 and is the only one of 200 similar rocks that's strong enough to withstand the journey back home, according to NASA. "Every year, we provide hundreds of meteorite specimens to scientists all over the world to for study," Caroline Smith, the principal curator of meteorites at London's Natural History Museum – which provided the rock, said in the press release. "This is a first for us: sending one of our samples back home for the benefit of science."
