Real estate industry getting smart about working with artificial intelligence Real Estate Weekly

Traces of automation can be found throughout the residential real estate market: listings, price estimates and home loans are available at the press of a button. In China, buyers can even consult robot Realtors. Commercial real estate, on the other hand, with its higher stakes and more complex deals, has been less susceptible to digital disruption. However, firms are still turning to artificial intelligence for a tech edge. Greystone is the latest real estate firm to dive into computer automation, partnering with Skyline AI, a New York- and Tel Aviv-based startup that specializes in data aggregation and benchmarking in the commercial investment market. With Skyline AI's assessment system and Greystone's financial records as well as the machine learning software of Greystone Labs -- the lender's in-house tech department -- the partnership aims to underwrite loans as much as 10 times faster and with more accuracy.

These Are The Technologies That Countries Invest In

U.S. News

Robots and drones have fueled a conversation about autonomous weapons and other deadly machines, being used in products ranging from the toy industry to the military. Yet investors seem to believe this technology is here to stay and in the U.S., the level of investment is highest. Venture capitalists in America spent $728 million on drones and robotics, far ahead of China, which was No. 2 on the list with only $227 million. Japan followed with $129 million invested, while Singapore and Canada closed the top five with $96 million and $59 million spent by venture capitalists, respectively.

Tinder adds GIF-like video loops to spice up your dating profile

Engadget

If you're a dating app regular, you know that a photo only says so much about yourself. But do you really want to go to the trouble of recording a whole video for people who could swipe left before you've even spoken a word? Tinder thinks there's a better balance between the two. It's launching a Loops feature that (surprise) adds two-second looping videos to your profile alongside the usual still shots. You just have to trim an existing video to portray yourself as a fun-loving party person or tender romantic. The feature is initially available for iOS users in the US, UK, Canada and large chunks of Western Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

I wrote this blog to wrap up my first ever public talk at PyCon Thailand 2018 and to add some more details . Advertising technology, commonly known as "Ad Tech", has been used by brands, vendors, and agencies to analyze and get insights from potential customers' activities online. In the past year, machine learning and deep learning became a major tools for Ad Tech. For example, an image recognition system is used to identify the targets from brands, products, and logos on publicly posted images. The easiest way to identify brand from images is by its logo. In deep learning, it's all about create, train, and deploy network.

SBI, other banks using Artificial Intelligence big time to improve efficiency,

#artificialintelligence

Indian banks, including state-owned SBI and Bank of Baroda, have started deploying artificial intelligence (AI) in a big way to improve efficiency, detect human behaviour and reduce operational costs. State Bank of India, the India's largest lender, has SBI Intelligent Assistant (SIA) -- a smart chat assistant, evolved from the "cutting edge technology of artificial intelligence, that efficiently resolves queries of NRI customers, similar to that of a bank representative. "It provides instant solutions on everyday banking queries in the chat box on the SBI portal," the state-run lender said. The bank is also in the process of instituting an'Innovation Centre' that will explore how emerging technologies such as AI and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can help in making internal banking processes more efficient. Another state lender Bank of Baroda has evolved an innovative concept by setting up of hi-tech digital branch equipped with advanced gadgets like artificial intelligence robot named Baroda Brainy and Digital Lab with free Wi-Fi services. Private sector banks too are using the advance innovative technology for improving workforce productivity and enhancing the customer experience. "The Indian banking industry is on a rapid digital journey and has been adopting technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning which will reshape the future.

In Serengeti National Park, there are 225 hidden cameras constantly photographing the creatures that roam this Tanzanian wilderness. To date, these camera traps have captured more than three million images. Through Serengeti Snapshot, as the program is called, they've studied everything from the migrations of the region's herbivores to the surprising co-existence of lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. It's work that wouldn't have been possible without an army of 30,000 citizen scientists, who manually sorted the collection, identifying and naming the species in each frame. It's time-consuming work, and the volunteers are doing it for kicks.
