The world's first waterproof drone capable of submerging under water, floating like a boat and flying through the air at over 40mph (60kmh) has been unveiled by US engineers. The $765 (£585) gadget, known as Spry, features a built-in 4K camera that can both record video and snap photos on the fly. Footage is beamed back to a monitor embedded into a waterproof remote control, which the drone's developers claim is another world first for the drone industry. With healthcare budgets under increasing pressure, AI tools such as the digital heart twin could save tens of thousands of dollars by predicting outcomes and avoiding unnecessary surgery.
Delta's fully biometric terminal is the first in the US
Delta Air Lines is launching what it calls the first "biometric terminal" in the US. The airline will use facial recognition at check-in, security and boarding inside the international terminal at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson -- similar to systems already in place in Dubai and Australia, but more comprehensive than the biometric checks already in use at other airports around the US. Passengers that want to use facial recognition can approach a kiosk in the lobby and click'Look', or approach a camera at the ticket counter, TSA checkpoint or when boarding. Once a green check mark flashes on the screen, they can proceed. Delta -- which plans to introduce fingerprint scanning to fold, too -- says passengers can use this system instead of the passports to get through these checkpoints, but you'll still need your passport for use in other non-biometric-equipped airports (although maybe one day we'll do away with passports altogether).

The cookie tin-shaped robots successfully reached the Ryugu asteroid last week after being released from the Hayabusa2 probe. The stunning new images and video released by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency show the craggy surface of the asteroid, and reveal the rover's first'hop' was a success. They were beamed back 180 million miles to Earth by the Hayabusa2 probe. The rovers are being used by Japan's space agency to search for clues of the origins of the solar system.
