The algorithmic revolution is here, and nations are losing control of not only their understanding of the potential impact of artificial intelligence, but also the governance model that enforced accountability on the advances in science and technology over the years at all levels. While each new technology innovation claims its territory for the economic advances in the human ecosystem with significant ramifications across cyberspace, geospace and/or space (CGS), the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has not only undermined governance, management and growth models, but it has also broken all barriers to boundaries defined by human decision makers. In addition, it is both blurring the boundaries between human intelligence and machine intelligence, and the boundaries between man and machine and real and fake. As a result, the power dynamics is shifting away from the select few across nations (and is moving away from humans entirely to algorithms)--re-defining the criteria upon which geopolitics was framed--and thereby threatening the foundations of global peace and security. Since the beginning of the technological age, each new idea, innovation and invention has helped humans across nations usher in a new era of economic growth, changing the fundamentals of respective nations and their security.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most impactful technological revolutions the world has witnessed. Customers today are increasingly exposed to advanced technologies such as AI-enabled chatbots and intelligent voice assistants like Apple Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa, making personalization a high priority for incumbent banks. Today, AI enables financial institutions to solve many critical problems, thereby saving money and increasing the efficiency of the workforce. By deploying AI-based solutions, banks can improve the outcome in various dimensions such as customer service, risk management, cross-sales, etc. A MEDICI research study of 34 major banks across several geographies (US, EU, Singapore, Africa, Australia, and India) found that 27 out of these 34 banks have implemented AI in their front-office functions in the form of a chatbot, virtual assistant, and digital advisor.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak hopes to see a foldable iPhone in the near future, following recent unveilings of folding devices from Samsung and Huawei. In a wide-ranging interview this week, Mr Wozniak said he feared Apple could fall behind its rivals if it does not release a similar device. Apple is never usually the first to bring out a new device but the tech giant has a habit of being a market leader when it does. Smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and personal computers were all invented before Apple released their own versions, but the Cupertino company's devices have come to define their product categories. A foldable iPhone could therefore take on the recent releases from the likes of Samsung and Huawei, even if it arrives a year or two late.

If you want to make changes to the way your face, hair, and clothing appear in photos you've posted online, help could soon be at hand. Artificial Intelligence (AI) software under development in South Korea lets you make alterations with the flick of a finger. Users can draw the changes they want - such as higher eyebrows, a different jawline or new earring - onto images directly. The system interprets these doodle to make realistic changes to the photo underneath. The new system, published in a scientific paper, allows users to change photos by doodling onto them.

Nintendo has announced two new Pokemon games – Sword and Shield – as well as a variety of monsters that will arrive with the new game. The announcement kicks off generation eight of Pokemon, and the first fully new games in the series for years. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield will arrive this autumn for the Switch. Together, the games offer the most detailed and highest quality Pokemon experience ever available on any console. Though there are Pokemon available for the Switch – with last year's Pokemon: Let's Go – the new game will be the first specifically made for Nintendo's latest console.
