PS Vita is officially dead, as Sony stops making handheld consoles and focuses on PlayStation
Sony has killed off the PS Vita, the handheld gaming console that was unveiled nearly a decade ago. The small unit arrived in 2011 but the two final versions have been listed as cancelled on the Japanese version of Sony's website, signalling the death of the console. It is likely that the Vita will continued to be sold in stores for a short period, but production has now come to an end. There is still a PS Vita page on the US version of the PlayStation site, for instance, though it is not listed in the headline links at the top. We'll tell you what's true.

It will be much harder than we have realised to blow up an asteroid and save the planet, scientists have warned. Experts have repeatedly warned that it is a question of when not if the Earth will be hit by the arrival of a potentially disastrous asteroid. But films have suggested a simple if high-tech response: launching heroes into space to blow it up before it ever gets here. In real life, however, those asteroids could be far more difficult to destroy than we knew. That is according to a new study from scientists at Johns Hopkins, who simulated the ways that an asteroid collision might happen and how such a space rock would fracture.

Washington, Mar 4: Scientists say they have developed a novel machine learning model to classify different types of lung cancer, and found that it performed on par with three practicing pathologists. Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning has improved dramatically in recent years and shown great promise in the field of medical image analysis, said researchers from Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in the US. They utilised machine learning capabilities to assist with the challenging task of grading tumour patterns and subtypes of lung adenocarcinoma, the most common form of the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Currently, lung adenocarcinoma, requires pathologist's visual examination of lobectomy slides to determine the tumour patterns and subtypes, according to the study published in the journal Scientific Reports.

The'Wasteshark' was designed to tackle the scourge in ocean pollution and protect the marine area's local wildlife and ecosystem. The high-tech aquadrone was released in lfracombe Harbour, the first in the UK following successful launches in five countries, including South Africa and UAE. An autonomous robot'shark' has been deployed at a Devon harbour to eat up plastic waste before the tide takes it out to sea. The'Wasteshark' was designed to tackle the scourge in ocean pollution to protect the marine area's local wildlife and ecosystems Wasteshark can'swallow' up to 60kg of debris in one trip and if running five days a week could clear 15 tons of waste from waterways every year, according to experts.
Facebook allows people to search out others by their email addresses – and won't let them opt out
Facebook is letting people be found with just their phone number – and there is no way to turn it off, according to users. The site collects people's phone numbers as part of a security setting, called two-factor authentication, which texts people when they try to login to make sure only someone with access to their phone can login to their account. Some users are forced to turn that on in order to use their Facebook, while everyone is encouraged to use it to keep their accounts secure. But Facebook is using those same phone numbers to allow people to look up others, it has emerged. And it offers no way of turning it off, even if people are aware of it and want it to stop.
OnePlus 7 leak reveals pop-up camera and massive screen
A new OnePlus 7 leak has revealed a radical camera design for the forthcoming Android smartphone. Notorious leaker @Onleaks published rendered images of the device on Twitter, showing off an edge-to-edge screen and a pop-up camera. The pop-up camera borrows from a similar design introduced with the Vivo Nex S, which hid the selfie camera in order to avoid a large bezel or notch at the top of the screen. The front-facing camera has proved to be the biggest stumbling block for smartphone makers hoping to manufacture an all-screen device. Apple's solution was to use a notch design for its iPhone X, while Samsung opted for a hole-punch design for its recently-announced Galaxy S10 range of smartphones.
