RegBN: Batch Normalization of Multimodal Data with Regularization

Neural Information Processing Systems

However, the integration of heterogeneous multimodal data poses a significant challenge, as confounding effects and dependencies among such heterogeneous data sources introduce unwanted variability and bias, leading to suboptimal performance of multimodal models. Therefore, it becomes crucial to normalize the low-or high-level features extracted from data modalities before their fusion takes place.

Japan to boost aid for video games and anime as new pillar of growth

The Japan Times

Visitors at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 held in the city of Chiba in September. The government has set a target of boosting annual overseas sales of Japanese content such as anime and video games to ยฅ20 trillion by 2033. The government will step up support for the overseas expansion of content industries such as video games and anime, while also investing more in related human resources development. Overseas sales of Japanese content reached around ยฅ5.8 trillion ($37.6 billion) in 2023, surpassing Japan's semiconductor exports. Neural Information Processing Systems

Recently there has been significant theoretical progress on understanding the convergence andgeneralization ofgradient-based methods onnonconvexlosses withoverparameterized models. Nevertheless, manyaspectsofoptimization and generalization and in particular the critical role of small random initialization are not fully understood.

Perception, in theoretical neuroscience, has been modeled as the encoding of external stimuli into internal signals, which are then decoded.
