Key European defence ministers meet in Paris to discuss Ukraine support
Is the war entering a new phase? Defence ministers of key European countries are meeting in the French capital to discuss military support for Ukraine amid continuing Russia-Ukraine attacks. A Russian strike on Ukraine's southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia injured four people on Monday morning, according to regional Governor Mykhailo Semikin, while a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia's Voronezh killed two people and wounded 17, regional Governor Alexander Gusev said. The Russian Ministry of Defence also claimed its forces hit a power station in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, as well as a nearby warehouse, and a power station in the Khmelnytskyi region. The ministry said Russian forces also targeted port infrastructure in Chornomorsk in southwestern Ukraine, and a cargo vessel en route to Odesa, which it claimed was being used for military purposes. Meanwhile, officials say that many of those wounded in the Ukrainian drone attack on Voronezh were passengers on a commuter train hit by falling debris.
2 Driverless Cars Crashed Going 155 mph. That Could Be a Good Thing
Only two of five vehicles finished the race around a notoriously difficult Formula 1 track, exposing what happens when autonomous systems meet blind corners, sensor failures, and physics. The grandstands erupted with shock as engineers clutched their heads in the paddock. One driverless race car, produced by the company PoliMove, slammed into Unimore's slowing vehicle in an event held by the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL). At the famous racing track in Imola, Italy, Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, both cars crashed in an area called Rivazza. This is the circuit's final sequence, made up of corners that are notoriously difficult to navigate.

UAE trade embargo could shut Iran's key economic escape route: Here's why
What is Iran's Pickaxe Mountain? UAE trade embargo could shut Iran's key economic escape route: Here's why The United Arab Emirates announced an indefinite trade embargo on Iran on Wednesday, accusing Iranian forces of firing two ballistic missiles at its territory. Iran denied launching missiles and described the reported attack as a "false flag operation" by Israel and the United States. The UAE's embargo has been described as highly significant by analysts, who say Iran is heavily reliant on its neighbour for critical imports and access to financial markets. "In many ways, the embargo being put on by the UAE is even more significant than the embargo being put on by the United States," Mark Kimmitt, a retired US general and former assistant secretary of state, told Al Jazeera, referring to US sanctions and the ongoing American naval blockade of Iranian ports. The recent developments come shortly after the June 17 memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the US and Iran lapsed on Monday, with little prospect of being renewed.

The San Francisco-headquartered Uber and London-based Wayve are racing against the Google-owned Waymo and its Chinese equivalent Baidu's Apollo Go to launch self-driving taxi services in London. Their progress is being watched closely because the British capital will be one of the first cities in the world to have American and Chinese tech firms operating on the same roads. Uber and Wayve said more than 100,000 Londoners were on their waiting list for the self-driving taxis.
