FOX Business correspondent Lydia Hu has the latest on jobs at risk as AI further develops on'America's Newsroom.' Tesla CEO Elon Musk often refers to the automobile factory as "the machine that builds the machine," but there are plenty of human workers involved in even the most highly automated plants. They remain a key part of the exceedingly complex process that is automobile assembly but need to operate as efficiently as their mechanical counterparts to keep cars and trucks coming off the line with a combination of quality and speed. Weeding out issues and making sure everything is running smoothly has traditionally meant sending quality control personnel up and down the lines to get eyes on the action. WHAT ARE THE FOUR MAIN TYPES OF AI? Palo Alto-based Invisible AI was founded by veterans of the autonomous car industry who saw an alternative for the artificial intelligence-driven machine vision technology they were working on that could come to market long before the mass acceptance of self-driving cars.

Singapore has laid out a years-long roadmap it believes will ensure its digital infrastructure is ready to tap emerging technologies, such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous systems, and immersive multi-party interactions. The Digital Connectivity Blueprint maps out key priorities for the country's infrastructure over the next 10 years and serves as a foundation on which it can realize better opportunities, said Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo. Also: Today's AI boom will amplify social problems if we don't act now, says AI ethicist The blueprint encompasses physical infrastructures, including broadband, mobile networks and data centers, as well as "digital utilities" to facilitate secure and seamless cross-border transactions. These transactions include e-payments and invoicing, data exchanges, document authentication, and identity verification, said Teo. She added that the blueprint will place Singapore in a better position to embrace opportunities from emerging technology trends, such as generative AI and autonomous vehicles.
Apple isn't letting us try on its Vision Pro mixed reality headset just yet, but I was able to briefly glimpse the hardware after fighting through the crowds at WWDC. And, well, it looks like yet another headset -- almost like a souped up version of the Meta Quest Pro. But even with just a short glance, it's clear that the Vision Pro is pure Apple: It's like seeing the iPod compared to the clunky MP3 players of its era, or the iPhone next to a BlackBerry. The Vision Pro is Apple's bold entry into the world of spatial computing, and it seems like the company has learned a lot from the VR and AR headsets before it. The front of the device features an OLED screen that can display your eyes, making you more connected to the people in the real world.
Apple is making a small but mighty change to Siri in the new iOS 17 - users can drop the'Hey' and only need to say'Siri' to activate the virtual assistant. The change has been a sought-after feature of iOS fans, and it seems Apple has finally listened. The operating system will also see new apps geared toward your physical and mental health, along with personalized posters of a user that shows their photo or emoji to a call recipient. A series of white angel wings rise up from the earth bathed in a warm glow of light, their sweeping forms creating a long covered pathway surrounded by trees in a possible centerpiece for the memorial to modern America's deadliest mass shooting. It's one of five potential designs unveiled Monday for a permanent monument on the Las Vegas Strip where 58 people were shot and killed and hundreds more injured at a country music festival on Oct. 1, 2017. Two survivors later died from their gunshot wounds.

Apparently, the introduction of Windows Copilot signaled the end of Cortana on Microsoft's desktop OS. In a new support document first spotted by Windows Central, the tech giant has announced that it will stop supporting the standalone Cortana app for Windows in late 2023. Microsoft launched Cortana as a voice assistant for Windows mobile devices back in 2014. It was supposed to be the company's answer to Apple's Siri, and it even predates Amazon's Alexa, but it never quite achieved their level of recognition and popularity. Over the year, Microsoft scaled back its plans for the voice assistant until it discontinued its Android and iOS apps back in 2021.
While online dating sites like Match.com and OKCupid emerged in the early 2000s and apps like Zoosk and Grindr followed, Tinder truly changed the online dating game with the introduction of the swipe in 2012. Recent grads have never dated in a world without dating apps, and the majority of them weren't in the dating pool prior to the "swipe." Now, Tinder has reached a point where 350 million swipes happen a day on the app. Swiping through profiles and meeting people through an app is completely routine among Gen Z. "I would say all of my single friends are at least on one of the apps," New York-based Emma Schwartz said. She's on Raya and Hinge but has tried Bumble and The Lox Club as well.
Microsoft launched Cortana as an AI assistant and the flagship feature of Windows 10 in 2015. Now, eight years later, Microsoft is pulling the plug. In a support document, Microsoft said that it's ending support for the Cortana app, Cortana's only remaining presence within Windows. Instead, Microsoft said it will encourage users to use other AI-powered features, whether it be within a standalone app or simply part of Windows or Microsoft Edge. Microsoft did say that Cortana will still be available within Outlook Mobile and various versions of Teams, including Microsoft's conferencing solution, Teams Rooms.
